Members and guests filled the Old Dungeon to help toast (and roast) a well-loved and respected man who rose in Roissy Val d'Oise from a talented live musician to Maitre of the Chateau, Chicago "Sax."

Maitre Rene smiles and looks at everyone – "Please take your seats. Welcome my Friends to this honored occasion as we elevate Chicago to Maitre de Chateau.
"First of all I must tell you all I did struggle try fix our radio. I wanted play some music from a band I really love later my friend Chicago. Chicago has been a loyal member here and has helped in many ways in the community. Today we are here to celebrate his dedication and who has achieved his reward having completed a through path from Intern to Maitre.
"We have witnessed as he has shared demonstrations, presented workshops, and assisted others through role play and being a mentor. Very few who enters the Dominant Path and finishes to this very high level Chicago has. Some say this builds character and strength to him I say Well done my Brother -- but first -- Thomas my brother the floor is yours."

"Thank you very much, my brother."
Thomas stands and smiles, "Wonderful to see everyone. I am pleased to offer a hearty thank you for joining us evening as we celebrate the dedication that Chicago has shown to complete his journey and achieve his full Maitre position of Roissy Val D'Oise. At Roissy Val d'Oise, we believe that being a Maitre of the Chateau is an achievement to be truly earned through hard effort, and providing much neeeded mentorship to other Dominants.
"This path and ceremony in our Roissy Dungeon has been revised over the years to focus the Dominant on the advanced nature and maturity of knowing your own Dominance and helping other discover it. I remember everyone's path here at Roissy, and I remember Chicago joining and I can he has learned very much in his path. He was always open to learning and taking advice when it was given. For that, you have my gratitude, my friend."
He turns to Chicago, "Chicago, you have completed your path, and I commend you for persevering, when I asked you to rewrite things an redo things so that you did them better and you would learn." Thomas shakes Chicago's hand gripping firmly, "Thank you for your loyalty to Roissy, I am pleased tp say that you are now a Maitre of the Chateau, Welcome brother"
After a long round of congratulations from the audience, Thomas announces "Dominants and submissives of Roissy, Maitre Chicago, has the floor now."
Chicago speaks, "Thank you Rene and Thomas, your friendships and support have meant a lot to me. He looks up and sees his new tag. "I'd like to introduce my first speaker, Kurt, who has mentored me during this phase of my progression at Roissy. Kurt is one of those long time experienced Maitres, who after having the initial mentor/mentee talk with me, stood on the sidelines and observed the "game" - only offering additional coaching support when asked. Kurt, my friend, the floor is yours."
M E N T O R ‘ S S P E E C H
Kurt stands solemnly, looks around, acknowledges where Rene was sitting with a smile and a nod and begins to speak, "I have been looking forward to this day for a long time. I have imagined standing here and giving a great speech for Chicago, I went over it in my mind many times and wrote and rewrote the speech. I read through it again as I was coming here to the dungeon and somewhere along the way I dropped my speech. Thomas must have picked it up because he gave the speech I had prepared to give." *grins*
"This truly is an honor for me to address you on the occasion of Chicago’s ascension to the brotherhood of Maitres here at VdO. I am pleased, but not surprised, that so many of you have come to be with him today. I will try to keep this brief because we want to hear from Chicago himself.
"I knew Chicago was someone special before he ever asked me to be his mentor. And because of that, I was humbled and a bit apprehensive that I would be able to provide anything significant to such a person’s growth here at VdO. In fact, I thought he was already a Maitre when he asked me to be his Mentor. It seems like he has been at VdO forever.
"Chicago is so well known and so well liked, there is not much to say that all of you don’t already know. There are people who have the ability to brighten up a room; some when they arrive .... and some when they leave. Chicago brightens the room upon his arrival.
"His talents are well known and many. And yet, he is humble. In my dealings with him, it was confirmed to me that he is capable of anything he sets his mind to. Not only is he a great performer on stage but he is great in roleplay and contributes positively to the sim. He is the type of person who could run this place. His commitment is evidenced by the time he spends here and by the submissives who seek him out. In fact, my popularity on the sim increased when the submissives found out I was Chicago’s mentor. Anything to get an in with the popular Master Chicago.
"When I became his mentor, I told him the following, 'I am available to answer questions about the path. You can IM me with questions or advice on bdsm in a poly community, for example, if you feel the need. I'll do my best to respond or help. I won't follow up with you on your path very often and unless I see something that causes me concern or I think you could use a word or two, you won't hear much from me. If you need help putting together a scene, I'm happy to help but, based upon our contact so far, I suspect you will do very well on your own. If at any time you feel that I'm not working for you, let me know. I can take it. I want to hear it from you.'
"During the time I served as his mentor, we both adhered to the above. He didn’t need any guidance from me at all but when he asked my opinion. he listened carefully and took any advice graciously. It has been a wonderful experience for me, to which I am grateful to Chicago." Kurt turns to Chicago and says, “You are the epitome of what a Maitre should be. You are an example not only to those who aspire to become Maitre some day but also to we who have been in that role for a long time. Thank you for your dedication and for your love of this community and the fine women who are here."
Kurt turns to the audience and says, “I promised a short speech. So, before I break that promise, which may be too late already, let me just say my thanks. First to Rene who provides the support, direction, and vision for such a wonderful community, I thank you. If a man is measured by the number of people he influences, Rene stands tall among us. Thank you. I am grateful to Thomas and Xanadu and the others in administration who work on our behalf with no compensation and often little thanks for the many seen and unseen activities they do for us. And thank you to the dominants and submissives here who strive to give their best to the sim. Thank you all for being here to support and congratulate Chicago on this well-deserved and long overdue honor.
"The demoiselles will be forming a line for those needing final scenes after the ceremony." He smiles and takes his seat
Chicago turns to Kurt, "Thank you very much Kurt, your friendship and mentoring feedback have been essential to my progress." He looks back to the group in front. "My next pleasurable duty will be to introduce my finals "partners". Yes, I decided to create a scene and enlisted a small group, including 3 sisters and Sam. Lucky me!
"My Maitre's final turned out to be a great experience. My main required RP scening partners were two sisters who helped me fulfill my finals task, Xanadu and Mia. Mia please stand and share your thoughts."

Mia nods, smiling widely, and rises to her full height. "Thank you, Maitre Chicago, and please let me start by saying that my heart is filled with joy today. Dear family, Maitre Chicago was the first dominant I had the honor to serve a drink to, as a Debutante. I was so nervous that I was not even able to kneel properly at first..." Mia turns around slightly and lifts her eyes to Maitre Chicago and smiles warmly
"It didn't take long for me to experience his dominance. Proud stance, calm, firm, silently demanding - and therefore, receiving! - full attention. It wasn't long before he earned my utmost respect and ultimately, my submission. A gentleman, highly creative and attentive to detail. A true Dominant, with all that it encompasses. Fate was extremely generous with me, allowing me to continue learning from him, admiring him and, at the same time, becoming his friend. His hands were the ones guiding me as Master of Ceremonies during my Initiation. Later on, as a Demoiselle, I had the great honor of assisting Maitre Chicago during his outstanding "Erotic Cupping" Maitre Demonstration, and my first scene after graduating as a Sister was my participation in his Maitre Final.
"His consistent support to all submissives and Dominants of our Community speaks volumes about his character, and his commitment to Roissy Val d'Oise. I am, personally, very thankful for that, Maitre Chicago, but I surely am not the only one! This incredible milestone he is meritoriously reaching today is reason for great joy in our Community.

"Thank you, for the more than kind words, Mia, Chicago responds as he stands, "Yes from not knowing how to Kneel to becoming the sister you now are has been a journey for you as well." And she giggles softly and nods
"My next speaker/scene partner needs little introduction - she's been an integral part of my path from day one. Xanadu is well experienced sister and Administrator. She the first sister to be elevated to the level of Roissy "O" , and someone whose opinion I have always depended upon.
Xanadu still frequently encourages me to get out on the dance floor and boogie down with the new debs. This might be difficult to believe, but my final was my first opportunity to scene with Xanadu, and was indeed a pleasurable experience,: His eyes meet Xanadu's and he gives her a big wink. “Xanadu please say a few words but don't tell them about all my secret moves.”

Hearing her name and moving forward Xanadu then greeted .. " Maitre Thomas, Maitre Rene, Maitre Chicago, and Maitre Kurt" .. then facing the audience .. "and those present .. Greetings to our Maitres Maitresse Masters Sirs Misses and Ladies. I formally met our "Silver Fox".. turns and grins to him briefly.. "over 2 yrs ago as he shared his musical talents entertaining us with his sax. Maitre Chicago's presence is very beneficial to our community and has became a valued Member of Roissy .
"Our Honoree .. as many can attest .. is a warm caring and good hearted Man who not only inspires .. but encourages as He leads with a firm but gentle hand .. and sometimes even offers a gentle push to assist others on their way . It is always an honor to be asked and approved to be a Finals Sister.. being an active part to either.. the Masters or the Maitres Path.. just as our Maitres are so important to our Sister's Finals and our Maitresses to our Roissy O's Finals.
"The Maitres Finals offers the highest honor a Dominant can achieve here at Roissy .. just as the path to Roissy O offers for our submissives .. and for this .. we humbly thank Maitre Rene for his insight of this community which allows us to safely learn about Bdsm. Being in my position .. I was aware of Maitre Chicago's demeanor with our others .. how he takes control in his scenes with our submissives and how he openly assists his mentees while also helping any one who asks it of him.. This being said .. when we discussed the possibility of being his finals Sister I was indeed honored .. and noting this was out very first scene together .
"Maitre Chicago's choice of scenes from the Story of O .. was after Renes time with Jeanne .. O's first time to see his interaction with another female and where our scene came into play. Later and having been properly prepared by Jeanne portrayed by Sister Mia and the additions of Master Sam and Sister Yvette were added to the scene."
"O, who I portrayed was being taken to the Chateau for the pleasure of the Dominants and is where the words "That's the enclosure" whispered by Mia was introduced .. and we are left to wonder what her punishment entailed." smiled and winked to her. "For my part .. I was escorted to the dungeon by Sister Yvette who prepared me for the visit of Maitre Chicago ... who as you may have guessed disciplined and used me for his pleasure."
"The Roissy O path is intact .. where as the Maitre's Path seems to be evolving. This being said the challenges are of the highest merit .. which can be earned respectfully here at Roissy. Having shared this" .. smiles to Maitre Chicago .. "Our Maitre Chicago .. as I am aware of .. is the first to be assigned to have more then 1 finals Sister in a Maitre's Final .. having 2 Sisters actively participating .. "smiles to Sister Mia .. "and a third assisting .. " smiles to Sister Yvette.
"In closing .." turned and smiled to Maitre Chicago then looked to Maitre Rene .. "I am very humbled to submit my continued support for Maitre Chicago as he serves Roissy Val D' Oise as an honored Maire of the Chateau ."
Xanadu returned to her cushion .. offering a sincere smile to Maitre Chicago
“Thank you, Xanadu” that was quite a trip through our scene," and she smiles and bites her lip. "You have a great memory or I was pretty good," he said.
He looks to Yvette with smile,"Another great essential addition to my final was Yvette. Yvette your comments?"

Yvette stands slowly, smiling to Maitre Chicago. "I can say many things about Maitre Chicago, but I've been told, to not divulge any secrets, so that certainly narrows down my speech!
"I have known him the longest of anyone in Roissy, and I've found him to exemplify the idea of a Maitre, in all that he does. Many adjectives come to my mind, and yes, all good *smiles. But I think what comes to my mind most predominantly, is his ability to truly care about others, which he exhibits, in all that he does.
"There have been quite a few scenes I have done with him, making me quite surprised, that he is able to fit each and every scenario to the subs area of expertise, not to mention giving that gentle nudge, push, in the direction of the limits. He knows that is whats needed for the maturity to flourish in a sub, to help her to be, the best, and teach her, basically about herself.
"He has excellent leadership skills, seen specifically in the Doms he has mentored. Due to his attention to detail, not only in scenes, but to those he mentors, there is never a doubt of expectations, and explanations are freely given. The transformation evident in those around him, whom he has 'taken under his wing', their growth as a Dom, as well as their newfound inner confidence, and not to mention submissives as well.
"I'm more than happy that Maitre Chicago is now a Maitre!! In my humble opinion, he is more than deserving and is a huge asset to the Roissy Community, as long as his spiders stay home!

After reactions to that, Chicago rises again, "Thank you Yvette, your participation was and still is greatly appreciated - it's good to see you back and active at Roissy
"And last, but far from least, sage words from the man whom I've mentored all the way through his Master's rating, Sam Cabot. Sam?"

Sam Cabot walks over to the front of the hall. "Three sisters and Sam..... Now that does sound like a movie I would be in" Chuckles as he fishes his speech out of his pocket.
"Hello everybody. It gives me great pleasure to speak on this wonderful occasion. Nothing I say here today that will surprise anyone about my mentor Chicago" Turns to Chicago and nods with a wink. Adds in a lower voice, in the hot mic "Not gonna talk about the thing when that other thing happened at the drop" clicks his fingers and turns to face the audience again.
He adjusts his tie and continues "Here is a dominant who personifies the values of Roissy dominants. I think they are the values we should aspire to. He is classy, elegant, carries himself with dignity, treats subs with care and makes them feel safe. Yet, you never see the slightest hint of any arrogance or cockiness. He is comfortable in his own skin" coughs "I've not gone skinny dipping with him, I promise." He makes the time to help and guide people who seek help from him. This is true for both, dominants as well as submissives. Here is a dominant who is suave, debonair, and when he picks up the saxophone, watch out ladies. Here is a tip to my fellow dominants. If Chicago is performing, find a sub to dance with. His tunes make the sub go weak in the knees and she'll hold on to you tighter"
"Chicago has been a wonderful mentor, role model and a friend to me. I know my fellow dominants in team Chicago agree. When I need help, he points me in the right direction, and lets me find what works best for me. He gives us the freedom to learn and grow, embrace who we are at our core. There is no pressure or expectation to mold us into the image he likes. That makes him a good mentor in my opinion." Looks at Chicago "I will of course look to you for advice when needed and I know you will readily offer it."
Sam walks over to Chicago, holds his hand in a thumb grip and gives him a man hug. "Proud of you brother, Congratulations on achieving the tag you deserve.
"Rene, I thank you for your vision, and for creating a space where such wonderful dominants can flourish and encourage others. Also thanks to the whole Admin team for everything you do for the sim. Chicago, my brother, the floor is your once again. Thank you everyone."
(Kurt wonders what holds the dungeon up and worries about the weight of 52 people)

"Thanks Sam your words and close friendship mean a lot to me, I'm glad you didn't 'spill the beans' about that 'thing'" ((Laughs)) and stands as he turns, smiles, and focuses on the assemblage, taking time to give a quick fist pump to his mentees who have proclaimed themselves "Team Chicago."
He scans the room, trying to stifle a wide grin and quickly pausing at each face, amazed at the turnout. "Hello, Famille, and thank you for being here on my special day!" He breathes deeply and looks at his shoes, trying overcome his profound sense of emotion, and ponders for a moment before raising his head and continuing.
"'FAMILLE' - What a great word that is... isn't it? We're a team also! An exceptional team that thrives and grows here at Rene's dream called Roissy. In view of what Rene has provided for us, at this time I'd like to offer him a donation as a token of my sincere appreciation." And he smiles and passes Rene a Bank of Linden cash gift card, and nods. After which, René exudes, "Awwsss my friend. Thanks a LOT my brother."
"You're quite welcome my brother." and he shakes his hand, then turns back to the audience
"As I prepared this speech, I've spent a good amount time reflecting back to my first days at Roissy, and my journey, which has culminated in my standing before you now. Many of you know that before applying for internship, I had been an entertainer here for a few years, I entered onto the path with an advantage that most interns don't enjoy. I had already spent some time getting to you know a few of you.
"Yet, I became a new intern, with a list of log items to complete. I had to summon the courage to approach a SISTER for help with a discussion that appeared on my log which, at first, seemed to be a daunting task. Yikes!!!! Talking to a sister seemed like it would be SCARY business!! However, after a few scenes and more discussions, I eventually overcame my 'intern Jitters.'"
He laughs and looks to Gillian, Blue, Norma and the rest of of the submissives who have taken the time to contribute to my path. "Also, 'Kudos' to my fellow dominants, who no matter what their tag denoted, offered me help and encouragement throughout my journey." He similes as he remembers the past two years. "Naming you all would take more time that we're allowed, but you know who you are.
“Our growth can be attributed to many things: Education, Mutual Interests, Adherence to rules and regulations, and most importantly...genuinely caring for one another as we proudly stand upon the foundation created by the 4 Pillars of Roissy

"Entering onto a path doesn't guarantee an automatic 'free pass' to the next level. I'd like to offer some advice - My progress here at Roissy is the result of hard work, my almost daily presence here on SIM, and a sense of duty to assist in the furtherance of anyone who requests it. If I see 'SIM hopping explorers', who pop in at the landing area when I'm around, I greet them with a warm hello and my 'Roissy smile'-- Or, if they are new group members here to 'test the waters' before considering entering the path, they get the same smile as I welcome them to the famille." smiles to Eliana "I'd also like to mention something to both the dominants and the submissives. If you're not somehow interacting and getting to know each other better, you're doing it wrong.
"Over the past years, many of you girls have been essential parts of my path, and I want to thank you for your cooperation." He looks to my outstanding finals partners with a wide grin. "Believe me when I say that you've created a lasting memory. To Rene, the Admins, and my mentor Kurt, I'd like to thank you for your support as I pursued my path."
He looks to the audience once more “I assure you that my heart is here and will remain at Roissy, and I will support the traditions I've learned here.” He turns to Thomas and smiles, “l want to especially thank you as well, Thomas. Our evening discussions that we've had while sipping on more than “wee dram” of Remy Martin Louis Tres. have brought me clarity when I needed some additional guidance, and prepared me for this day." Thomas nods, "Indeed, You are most welcome"
"Thomas and Rene, I know you still have a few words to say, the floor is yours." And Chicago returns to his seat.
T O A S T A N D S U M M A R Y
After some clever but typically snarky comments from Maitre Kurt and others, Thomas stands. "No Dominant has picked his own Champagne before. His selection of 2012 Louis Roederer Cristal Brut was first created in 1876 for TSAR Alexander II of Russia. Louis Roederer would later commission a Flemish glassmaker to create a clear lead glass Champagne bottle with a flat bottom. The Champagne has since become known as 'Cristal.' Nice choice Chicago, "pours him a flute and also one for myself
"Everyone, raise your glass and a toast to our newest Maitre..Chicago !"
"Congrats Windy City! Long may you blow that saxophone!" and 51 other hoots and hollers ring out from the loud and happy crowd congratulating and toasting the new Maitre.
"My brother, Rene, the floor is yours."
René answers, "thanks my friend. I just have a very few words to say.” He raises his glass with "hmmm - 2012 Louis Roederer Cristal Brut , think I only call it 'Cristal'" René sips some wine, thinks a moment, remembering what he wanted to say.
"Let us grow as a community as we seek to move forward. My door is always open if you wish to share ideas or just need to talk. In closing, You are all invited to play more active roles. If there is something you can offer the sim, or I should say - our SIM our home, please fill out a notecard and drop in my red mailbox just outside my office so that I can review
"We are a family, and we can't do this all ourselves. I am humbled to know each of you and call you each my famille. I thank you for sharing your time and showing your support. I encourage each of us as members to take a look deep inside ourselves, be the example setters for others as we lead and guide, always keeping in mind the closer we bond the stronger we become. No matter what others may try and tear down. ‘Chains of steel will rust with time, chains of the heart will only grow stronger!"
René smiles, and looking at them all. "Thank you all for joining us here, to celebrate this special day with Chicago You are all dismissed, Join us in the Ballroom with Luvofmusic.”
