It was cold outside but in the Old Dungeon the atmosphere was warm as the crowd made small talk while awaiting the start of the Ceremony. Tonight we would honor the promotion of Master Stoney Carolina to the level of Roissy Val d'Oise Maitre.
W E L C O M I N G D O M I N A N T
Maitre Thomas looked around the room full of murmuring people and called the ceremony to order. His voice carried through the room, "This is one of our newer traditions, of celebrating a Masters's journey to the highest tag we offer here at Roissy Val d'Oise. Matire d'Chateau, in the dungeon, where the Dominants dwell. We are here to celebrate the dedication that Stoney has shown to complete his journey and achieve his full Maitre position of Roissy Val D'Oise."
There was some cheering which quickly quieted as Maitre Thomas continued, "I have seen Stoney grow and mature and succeed. Its my honor and pleasure to preside over this event."
Tucking his hands in his suit pocket, Maitre Thomas went on to say, "The Maitre/Maitresse path has been revised and is much more onerous then before. It focuses on demonstrated support to Roissy for mentoring and helping others."
"We will have special speakers tonight, but first we will open the floor to short comments about our new Maitre to be. Speak if you are inspired. I may cut them short if need be." Maitre Thomas then looked around the room and added, "Any short words for our new Maitre to be? Now is the time or forever hold your piece."
S H O R T C O M M E N T S
Sadie's was the first hand up and Maitre Thomas invited her to speak. She said, "I've known Master/Maitre Stoney for several years now and I'm so Happy to be here to share in his and Annie's joy...congratulations!" to which the soon to be Maitre Stoney smiled.
Annie made a small joke at this point, asking if the credit line on her wardrobe would now be increased, to which there was some laughter.
Next to speak was Maitre Dusty with this comment, "I have known Master Stoney since he first arrived here at Roissy quite a while ago. I've always felt he was an honest, trustworthy individual who is sincerely interested in improving himself and learning much more about the D/s lifestyle. It's a pleasure to see he has finally reached a point where he is ready to give back. I believe he has found his niche and has been not only a staunch supporter of this community but an essential member of it as well. We are honored to have him as part of our community and being our newest Maitre."
Following Maitre Dusty, Mistress Petra offered with a smile, "In spite of the
fact that you now outrank me Stoney, I am so very happy for you and for our Annie. Well deserved and well done. Congratulations."
Master Cy then commented, "I'd like to whole heartedly thank our soon (to be) Maitre Stoney for mentoring me and looking out for me. THANK YOU, STONEY!"
The soon to be Maitre's grin grew broader at each of the comments and he humbly thanked the speakers.
Next up was Priscilla who said, "Annie is one of my oldest friends in Roissy, and I suppose I'd probably be a little leery of anyone who she was to belong to. 'No one's good enough for her,' that sort of thing. But she and Master Stoney have always been such a great couple, just perfect for each other. And that's because he's just perfect for her. I'm very glad to see him come so far, especially because he's meant so much to everybody. He's very well liked, and very well respected, all round. This is a great day for Roissy."
Annie sent hugs and the soon to be Maitre Stoney gave a warm thank you.
Xanadu added, "It has been a pleasure to see Maitre Stoney's trip to this point of his path. Along his path he has provided us with vital information in His presentations and demonstrations. I feel certain He will be a positive role model to the other Dominants moving to this point of their paths, also adding, it's indeed a pleasure to see Annie beaming since her arrival tonight. Congratulations to you Maitre Stoney."
Ita, as the last to speak, had this to say, "I am so honored Master Stoney was my protector during my initiation, and I am (glad to be) part of this path he has done to become a Maitre. It is good to have a good friend in him. Congratulations to him!!"
As he took the floor again, Maitre Thomas said, "Thank you Ita, and everyone for their kind words. This is (a) significant achievement and we all should enjoy it with Stoney."
At that point he looked to Stoney who thanked everyone, saying he was very moved by their kind words. Maitre Thomas then extended his hand to shake Stoney's as he announced, "Stoney, its with extreme pride and pleasure, that I can announce you as a Maitre of Rossy Val d'Oise."
The new Maitre looked very proud, shaking Maitre Thomas' hand firmly while the crowd clapped. Releasing Maitre Stoney's hand, Maitre Thomas turned over the floor to him, saying, "Stoney, this now your audience, please introduce your speakers as you please."
As he took the stage, Maitre Stoney said, "Thank you Maitre Thomas. I add my welcome to everyone and will introduce three members I have asked to speak. I have been so touch(ed) by all of your comments. First to speak is Hadaway. He has been my mentor since my early days here at Roissy. He is always been supportive of me and helpful with advice and training. the floor is yours my mentor. Please come forward to speak."
M E N T O R ' S S P E E C H
Maitre Hadaway made his way to the front of the room where he stood, surveying the many faces in the audience. He started to hum, then gave some of the words to the song "Carolina in My Mind." As Maitre Stoney grinned, Maitre Hadaway began his speech.
He had this to say, "I'm sure he is very proud that so many of you have turned out to celebrate yet another milestone in his Vd'O life. I will be very brief. Just a few words regarding why we are here tonight and won't keep you more than 30 minutes or so... I promise.
"So.... Good evening to all of our friends gathered here at Val d'Oise. Ladies, Gentlemen, Debutantes, Demoiselles, Sisters, Dommes, Doms, Masters and Maitres. 20th of march 2016...... our first few words were very brief .." He went on to explain that this meeting consisted of greetings, Maitre Hadaway telling Maitre Stoney he'd been asked to mentor him, and Maitre Stoney answering with 'good'.
Maitre Hadaway continued, "Since then we have conversed a great deal. He was not only a good mentee but also a close friend and a highly respected colleague. At the end of November 2016, Stoney graduated to Master here and has been a stalwart of the sim ever since, teaming up with Annie in the spring of the following year. Ever the Romantic he allowed her to capture his heart and it's good to see their relationship still strong 2 years on."
"It has been a pleasure to mentor Stoney. Leaving him to work and play at his own pace but always being in the background to advise or help whenever needed. In June of last year, Stoney entered onto what some see as the final path of his Vd'O career, to become a Maitre. But that is not the end. There is no end. We all continue to learn and progress no matter what level we are at. He has worked hard to finally get to this place where we now find ourselves. Those of you who know Stoney will know the effort and dedication that he puts in to his well thought out actions and work in to this life."
Maitre Hadaway paused and looked at Maitre Stoney before going on, "He has more than shown his worth as a Master of our wonderful establishment here. Becoming a Master was not the end of his path as we can all witness here this evening as he is finally rewarded for his efforts and joins the ranks of Maitre. I for one know that is well deserved. (He is) a true Gentleman with a dominant presence and I am certain he will continue to serve the community in his new capacity. In short, I am honored to call him my friend. He no longer needs a mentor although we will always be there for each other. I am extremely proud to now see him
called Maitre Stoney. Congratulation Maitre Stoney. I know that you will respect your position and serve our community well. Thank you."
Maitre Hadaway returned to his seat as the crowd applauded. Maitre Stoney took the floor again to thank Maitre Hadaway and introduce the next speaker, his lady, Annie.
S P E A K E R S
Annie stood, rubbing the wrinkles from her gown and stepping through the crowd. She gave her Master a wink and took a deep breath before starting to speak,"Once upon a time there was a Master's ceremony and a girl attended, wanting to show support of a man she knew of. She was asked to dance after the ceremony by this man and in a single dance fell head over heels for Him. The rest is history. He made her His and they never looked back."
"My Dear Maitres, Mistress, Doms, Sirs and lovely sisters of Roissy, I have
walked this Maitre path side by side with my Master. He has been meticulous in his planning and has conquered each task with ease and confidence. Some days I am amazed at His genuine caring for others, and other days I am pleased and in awe of His embrace of our family and lifestyle here at Roissy."
Annie continued, "His RP has been genuine and He has had fun accomplishing each step. He will make a spectacular Maitre because he has the heart of one. Every member of this sim is important to Him and he has a special way of making them feel this through His words. I have enjoyed RPing with Him and watching His RP with others. We have grown as a couple as we worked through His path. I am quite proud of Him."
"This path had its challenges," Annie said, "There were times that He needed to complete tasks that were intimate and private with others. The one thing that has gotten us through it all is communication. We are open and honest with each other, even when it's hard. He has become my confidant and very best friend, and I give thanks each day that He took me as His so long ago. His love humbles me."
"His final was my favorite part, as we worked together to create a scene from the Story of O. As always, my Master created a wonderful script and we tweaked it as necessary as we proceeded through it. Ladies, he is a task Master in RP, but manages to make it fun and entertaining. I know that i will have to share Him more in the future. As long as you remember that He is mine, i will be glad to share." With a smile, Annie thanked both Maitres Thomas and Stoney and returned to her seat.
Maitre Stoney introduced the final guest speaker, Master Quiet with these words, "My friendship with Quiet has evolved from being a rival for Sweet's affection to one of a good friend, after i collared his former girl, Annie. Go figure. I treasure that friendship, Lets hear what he has to say."
Master Quiet slowly rose, smoothed the front of his jacket, looked around, and cleared his throat before speaking, "Greetings to A/all. I will be brief as the evening moves on. Congratulations Stoney. You earned your new tag task by task and surely deserve it. Over the past couple years we exchanged comments on ideas or things that have or have not happened as many of us do. Other times we played a game or two of Yahtzee or Blitz. No matter the comments, no matter win or lose, you have always been a southern gentleman with class and style and one I believe will help our community grow. Congratulations again Maitre Stoney."
Master Quiet returned to his chair as the crowd cheered.

Knowing it was his turn to speak, Maitre Stoney took the floor a final time. "I look around the room seeing so many friendly faces knowing that countless numbers of you have helped me complete the maitre path through interaction with me or attendance at the many events associated with the path and I am eternally grateful to everyone."
He continued, "As Maitre Thomas has indicated, the maitre path as it is currently is constructed, more than the lower level paths, has so many challenges including the holding of events (demos, role plays, and a special event), assisting subs and doms in their path assignments (including three initiations and eight assignments of various types), workshops (one presented to the sim and one containing suggestions for mentoring), in addition to the mentoring of two of my fellow dominants."
"On a a personal note, a difficult challenge was keeping doms from causally groping my lady inappropriately, while dancing. It was a delicate part of both training over eager doms and defending my lady. I have learned that mentoring doms is no easy task. It requires patience and figuring out their point of view."
Maitre Stoney smiled at Annie when she giggled and went on, saying, "Later on I elected to permit my lady do a Masters final with one of my mentee, Cy. It was a challenge to restrain my emotions and let it happen. I kept saying to myself, 'Such is the nature of our educational BDSM sim' and I was absolutely sure of her loyalty to me. Ultimately this mentoring process was rewarding and I learned much from it especially that one can only do so much to guide mentees."
He then said, "My lady also proved her closeness to me when we worked on my maitre final together. That assignment was to adaptively enact a roleplay with scenes from the Story of O. The adaptation included many of the principles of our sim (limits and consent for example) that were not openly adhered to in the novel. While this was done in a private rp, I think the ideas in it could serve as a focus of a sim discussion. I also learned how much Annie and I agreed on things and worked well together."
"The workshop I created surveyed sim members and drew conclusions about the nature of intimacy in a BDSM sim such as ours. I was surprised at how many sim members prized intimacy despite its difficulties in a BDSM sim." he stated.
"I had great fun creating and acting in my Game of Throne special event, which included performances by Annie, Sadie and three dom warriors besides me, as well as GOT quizzes that several sim members aced. Performances with the costumes and the sets take me back to my college acting days."
He continued, "All those initiations let me know some subs more than perhaps a dom who has collared a loyal sub should. It too was a pleasant challenge. I was happy to fulfill my path assignments as well as those of the deb's."
"The path, as it was probably intended, has been one of the most intense learning experiences of my life. I learned to deal with mentees that get in trouble, events that experience technical and scheduling problems all while trying to understand and apply the concepts of BDSM, which were alien to me before coming to Roissy. At times I had my doubts whether or not I would complete ALL the assignments, but I persisted and I am glad I did."
In conclusion, he said, "As a new maitre I will continue to help my fellow VdO members and attend as many events as my rl will allow. I treasure my experiences here and thank every one for coming." He then turned the floor back over to Maitre Thomas.
T O A S T
Maitre Thomas poured a full flute and looked at Stoney, " I have few words before your party, my friend. Take a glass, Annie and Stoney, and every one with us too."
There was a clinking of crystal as everyont took a glass of champagne, and once every hand held a glass, Maitre Thomas raised his own high to give the toast. "Congratulations Stoney, Salute!"
Everyone raised their glasses and drank amid thunderous, happy applause and many contratulations to Roissy's newest Maitre, Stoney.
