On a beautiful day in December the community gathered to celebrate as Master Opie advanced from a Dominant to a Master on his path at Roissy Val d’Oise. Maitre Thomas welcomed everyone and led the celebration of perseverance on a path that “spans a few generations of people at Roissy and we are all happy and proud of him for achieving this important step.”

Master Opie introduces his mentor, a woman he describes as one he holds in the highest esteem and appreciation, Maitresse Derry to speak on his behalf.

Maitresse Derry describes Master Opie as a relatively quiet presence. Quick with a greeting but never imposing. Quietly pensive, observant, respectful, and all the while carefully making his way to this day at his own pace, And I say, 'well done Opie'. She continues to describe Master Opie as a “seasoned dominant, experienced and confident. A confident dominant will take my offering, think about it and make their own decision. That's how Opie operates. Opting to lead rather than to be led”.
In closing, Maitresse Derry offers congratulations, and declares that Roissy is fortunate to have Master Opie here, taking care of our girls and helping them and other dominants along their respective paths.
Master Opie then introduces Venna, a Roissy and Samois Sister, welcoming his” partner in crime” and final’s partner to speak on behalf of the submissives of our community.

Venna speaks to Master Opie's long involvement in our community, stating playfully what many of us had thought: "Master Opie has been a member of Roissy quite a while now, and I was beginning to think he would never make the move to join our other Masters, even though I knew he would make an excellent one!” Venna then sets the stage of discussions, planning and organizing they did to make the final scene a success, declaring as she fans herself that she hoped he enjoyed it as much as she did. Venna confirmed what many of us submissives already knew that Master Opie is an imaginative, attentive and dynamic Master and roleplayer.
In closing Venna proclaims that she is honoured to call “ this amazing man/dominants friend. Thank you Master Opie for allowing me to share this experience with you.” After a soft gentle kiss to the dominant she finishes with “. Congratulations Master Opie! I have great pleasure in recommending that Master Opie be rewarded for his longevity, hard work and persistence and to be finally known as Master Opie!"
M A S T E R S P E E C H
Master Opie rises to speak, contemplating a moment, he begins by first thanking Rene and our admin people for all their hard work. He reminds us that his journey began over 5 ½ years ago after a random invitation to visit by a friend. Master Opie tells us that his history in sl was bouncing around from place to place with no one spot he called home. He continues that as he looks back he realizes how much he has grown here, how many times the challenges have stretched him and allowed him to change some of his perspectives.
Reflecting on his journey, Opie looks back on the moments that made it very special. He points out the dreaded rl that lead to a few sabbaticals, and how he now holds the record for length it took to complete the Dom to Master path. There was time to thank a few that helped him along, Maitresse Derry, Sadie, Aysel, Alisha and Venna just to name a few.
Looking to the future, Opie acknowledges there is still much to learn, how he can encourage others and how we can all share our journey together. In closing Opie thanks everyone and says he looks forward to experiencing the next steps of his journey.
