One early morning, a small group of our beloved family (those from Europe and Eastcoast) gathered on the Chateau Patio to celebrate Sir Chip's Master Ceremony.
Maitre Kurt™ welcomed everyone and before turning over the ceremony to Master Chip, awarded him the Ring of Entitlement and his new Master Title. "We are honored to have you in our community, as we are with the rest of our family here and I have no doubt that you will continue the hard work you have so far as you continue this next part of your journey in our community."
Master Chip put the ring on, bit it to see if it was real gold, eliciting a ripple of giggles and snorts from those assembled. The following speeches were made on Master Chip's behalf.
Maitre Taylor Smitty
Thank you Chip much appreciated. Well Chip, if nothing else we have become friends. The reason I say this is because about two or three weeks ago, Chip IM's me and says, "Hey, did you know you were my mentor?
Truth is neither of us knew it. Somewhere, some way, on the mentor roster in the Dominants office, he had become my mentee. Well, as it turned out that is a good thing, you see it can be hard at times for Dominants to sit still long enough for them to become friends.I had seen Chip around and we were always cordial in passing, maybe even scened at the same time in the Chateau but never sat and talked.

"So upon hearing he was my mentee, I had to find out a little about the man. After looking through his log, I began to call on girls he had spent time with and scened with. What more intimate setting to learn a person than in the throws of D/s. (I made that phrase up myself).
The girls I spoke with started off by saying things like, "yes, he is a very caring man" and "he is such a gentleman.............................................................. Hmm, hmmm, I have heard this before, he is the boyfriend type that comes here looking for a wife. Not good in my mind. Good in some ways but not what I wanted to hear.
But, after unclogging my ears to those terms, the girls continued on by saying things like , "demanding", "in control", "firm." " He smiles real big, "Yeah, now you're talking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He looks over at the man of the hour with a huge grin.
He reaches down to his cup and takes a big slurp of his coffee, "Chip, now we move forward a bit, you have accomplished much, I know you have put in the time and effort. This is quite the milestone, but, I want your journey to continue. You see with that new tag and that shiny new ring comes responsibility..
You will be looked at differently, looked at as more of a leader, a person both the girls and the younger Dominants can turn to in times of need or question. I know you are the man for the job and will lead by example as well.
\In closing, just know this my famille, Chip is deserving of this reward and you all are deserving of having a person I know will make a great Master in your midst. Congratulations Chip, my friend."
Sister Venna
"Greetings Maitre's, Maitresses, Masters, Mistresses, Sirs, Miss's, Sisters, Demoiselle's and Debutante's and friends of Master Chip and Roissy.".
"To say I am proud to be standing here today to speak of this wonderful Master, honestly, is a huge understatement". Looks at Master Chip, green eyes flashing, the biggest smile on my face. "It is an honor and a privilege" nods my head to him and does a little bob. Heart racing as I smile to him.
"When I first met Master Chip, waves my hand in the air, way back in March 2016 I think? He asked me if I had a mesh body. Laughs quite an intriguing start to what has become for me a very wonderful friendship".
"I was on that first meeting, soon to be laid upon the Chateau dining table and coated in chocolate and daubed with strawberries and cream in strategic places". Looks around at the audience. I will let your imaginations conjure up what happened after that." chuckles gleefully.
Master Chip Althouse: The chocolate was quite good, by the way
"Suffice it to say It was a very enjoyable experience, the trouble was finding bits of chocolate in the most awkward of places for days after." Winks at him. "After that most enjoyable experience, we met only occasionally, chatting and dancing, and then Sir Chip asked me to help him with his Masters workshop."
" That was great fun, as well as being terrifying. I was so afraid that I would let him down. Of spilling all the drinks and making a right mess of things. I should not have worried. His calming influence ensured all went well and according to plan."
"Being with Master Chip has always been a pleasure, as he is the kindest and most considerate Dominate I have ever met." Looks over my shoulder to him and almost melts.
"He actually takes the time to get to know who you are. What your preferences are and sticking by them." Laughs looking at him for a moment "I say that, but,...he did push me.. Stretched me further than I had ever thought he would. I was honored to be asked to assist Master Chip in his final task....a test of his Dominance, strength, weakness and the ability to draw every ounce of pleasure from a submissive and boy did he." Shivers at the memory.
"But!"....looks at him again and then back to those in the audience. "I trust this man. "I trust him not only with my body, but with my mind and my heart.. I trust him because he does what he says he will do, and he keeps his promises."
"HE is a sensuous man, enjoying the softness of his Dominance as well as being strict and demanding, Striving to get the best out of a submissive girl. He makes things easy, comfortable. which makes you want to do all in your power to please him. "HE isnt perfect.... giggles but for we Submissive's he is Dominant and fair."
Looks around at the lovely Debutante's and soon to be Demoiselles. "If you haven't yet,but hopefully you are going to scene with Master. He will talk to you about it. He will discuss it through with you, ask about your limits, ask how far you are prepared to go and arrange when and where.."
"Aftercare..... is! smiles well, I will let you find out for yourselves..lets just say....he made the clouds whiter and fluffier, the chocolate chocolater and I was sorry when our time was over. As I said before, he makes everything easy, fun, worth every single minute and effort that you put into it and I have as a submissive been honored and grateful for the experience and the time he has given to me."
Turns to the tray on the table I prepared earlier picking it up and kneeling before him. "Your whisky Master Chip. with one cube of ice."
Master Chip Althouse knows what she's about to do, he chuckles at her great serving skill and takes the glass of whiskey
Venna stands again after he has taken the glass and turn back to the audience present. "So To everyone here at this auspicious time I ask you to raise your glasses and toast this wonderful Dominant and congratulate him on reaching his Masters Tag. HE thoroughly deserves it. I recommend Master Chip receives the accolade he definitely deserves." Turning back to Master Chip, "May you continue to be the wonderful Dominant you are Master Chip and I hope this girl will have the honour of spending many more hours with you in the future. Master Chip's Speech
Wow, that was a great speech, Venna, thank you VERY much. “I’m not one for long speeches,” he says, and then does the old joke where he unfolds a long paper that drags along the floor.”
I appreciate you all coming here so early. I know the west coast people and I am offering free coffee after this and complimentary face slaps to get you awake. I could talk for hours about Venna alone – a smart, truly beautiful Sister who has such a warm, sexy vitality... but I will spare her the embarrassment. Let me just say... she is a real asset to VdO.
My main point is to remind everyone we live in a top-tier sim in SL. I came here in 2015 I think, and before that I actually visited a few other Story of O places. They are weak imitations of Rossy Val d’Oise.
I don’t know how it evolved, but at some point René Geir, our beloved Propriétaire, set the standards and built the infrastructure for a grand idea. The Admin staff, while occasionally shifting gears --- has kept Roissy going in its truest form. And while we all criticize this and that, VdO is the best sim in Second Life for world class role play.
I arrived when Thomas was Dom Supervisor, and took my time with the logs. I didn’t realize as a beginner how much work the Admin staff did, or how hard it was for them to deal with the daily drama that evolves among 40 or 50 people on sim and thousands in the group.
That’s not to mention the work of organizing everything – every ceremony, every entertainer, every season change, every workshop, every rental, etc.., and reading dozens and dozens of logs and applications, and workshop ideas, and event outlines, and.... and .. well, it makes my eyes cross to think of it.
We log on, we go to the landing zone, we chat, we flirt, we enjoy all kinds of sim activities, right? Movies, art galleries, ice skating, dances, workshops, special events, games, swimming, even a barber shop and a working kitchen.
Behind every one of those activities and facilities – some thankless Admin had to to build it, maintain it, decorate it, pay for it, and update it -- and that’s in addition to all the other behind-the-scene work we don’t see happening. Ever think about who does all the bookkeeping behind the $300 USD that pays for this sim every month? I never do.
So, as I stand here today, having learned a ton of quality material in my two years here, and accept my Master’s ring, I never want to take for granted all the effort that went into creating this place and maintaining the system that helped me earn it.
I do miss having Gillian here, and that wild guy Justyn, as well as a few other Admin people who worked hard but aren't here now – but we should be very grateful to Thomas, Dusty, Taylor, Kurt, Xana, Sana, Juliette, Julie, and whomever I may be inadvertently missing, for keeping us afloat and donating so much time out of their real lives.
I also appreciate Sadie, who does countless services above and beyond the call, including the design for my Event texture today.
As far as my own path, I can thank not only the beautiful Venna, but also Amaya, Nica, Alika, and Karli plus all the Sisters, Dems, and Debs who helped me with binding, discussions, chores, and my Master workshop, "How To Serve." We have the sexiest and brightest girls in all of VdO.
I learned so much – and of course, I keep learning -- even going back to workshops I've already attended is a learning experience, because the Q&A is different each time and very enlightening.
Well, that’s my say.
