Welcome ...smiles... as E/veryone gathers around...holds the bottle of Pinot Noir between my hands posing with it then turning slowly as i show the bottle to E/everyone.
Mascarello whispers: This traditionally made Baroloe shows great depth and complexity, notes of ripe, soft fruit followed by hints of tar and tobacco, and a long lingering length. MeriborRessick Resident,this would be lovely with a luxurious truffle risotto.

Gillian uncorks the bottle with a loud plop, the cork bouncing to the floor, then pours a little bit into the glasses in front of me for E/everyone to sample..chats about the wine as i pour....
Pinot Noir tends to be of a light or medium body, with the aroma conjuring scents of currant or blackberry; certain growing conditions may impart a notable wood-like flavor to the wine. The color is often much lighter than other red wines due to the smaller amount of pigment in the thin grape skin
Pinot Noir wine is well suited with poultry, ham, lamb or pork. Due to the growing requirements of Pinot Noir it is usually produced in much smaller quantities than other red wines.
Burgundy, in France, is known as the original cultivation area for pinot noir so these wines are in very high demand. The darkest pinots from New Zealand come from the Central Otago and have cherry, baking spice and cola-like finish. It is also produced in California, Australia, Germany and Argentina. Argentinian pinot noirs bring in the sun in a glass, when there’s none outside!....smiles
Very unlike Cabernet Sauvignon thhe structure is delicate and fresh. The tannins are very soft; this is related to the low level of polyphenols. The aromatics are very fruity (cherry, strawberry, plum), often with notes of tea-leaf, damp earth, or worn leather.

Yet pinot noir is very transparent to the place where it is grown. The staggering range of wines produced makes it pointless to define which personality is the best expressed, smiles, hoping everyone leaves my table more knowledgeable about Pinot Noir Wine.

Mira's Presentation
Mira smiles a warm welcome to all those approaching her table and pushes the glasses forward also a basket with bread cubes. There is also a jug filled with fresh water to gurgle. Points discretely to a bucket placed beside the table where the water can be spit out (or even the wine)
"Hello everybody .... and welcome to our special event today. My name is Mira (M-ee-rah) and I am from Germany. So it is obvious that I introduce to you a famous German wine, named:
It is a food-wine pairing and its dry versions go well with fish, chicken and pork dishes.
The classic German grape of the Rhine and Mosel grows not only there but in all wine districts. Of all the grapes of Germany, the most noble is the Riesling. It is a variety that can do well even in stony soil and can subsist on a minimum of moisture.
Mykal (mykal.mcmahon): yes a good German wine
Let me please add that the Riesling is also frost-resistant and a very dependable bearer of high quality grapes which have an acidity level that gives the wine a racy freshness and contributes to its long life.
Germany’s great Rieslings are usually made slightly sweet, with steely acidity for balance. Riesling from Alsace and the Eastern USA is also excellent, though usually made in a different style, equally aromatic but typically drier (not sweet). California Rieslings are much less successful, usually sweet and lacking in acidity for balance.

Riesling wines are much lighter than Chardonnay wines. The aromas generally include fresh apples. The Riesling variety expresses itself very differently depending on the district and the winemaker. Rieslings should taste fresh. If they do, then they might also prove tastier and tastier as they age. .... giggles ... same as it is with some Masters
Well that is all about the Riesling but feel free to take a notecard if you wish .... and a cigar?

Sauvignon blanc
Districts: New Zealand produces some excellent Sauvignon Blancs. Some Australian Sauvignon Blancs, grown in warmer areas, tends to be flat and lack fruit qualities. Of French origin, sauvignon blanc is grown in the Bordeaux district where it is blended with semillon. It is also grown extensively in the upper Loire valley where it is made as a varietal wine.
Typical taste in varietal wine: generally lighter than Chardonnay — Sauvignon blanc normally shows a herbal character suggesting bell pepper or freshly mown grass. The dominating flavours range from sour green fruits of apple, pear and gooseberry through to tropical fruits of melon, mango and blackcurrant.
Quality unoaked Sauvignon Blancs will display smokey qualities; they require bright aromas and a strong acid finish; they are best grown in cool climates.
