PEN & INK ART
My Second Life name is Ricker...  (aka r.j.reynolds in RL)

I've been blessed with creative ability from birth, taking many forms from the little boy in a hospital bed that makes a pair of pants from a hospital gown with safety pins to winning blue ribbons for his High School art project. Armed with creative ability and no art education, made my way through work careers other than art until a turn of events left me at a career and life path crossroads... deciding to pursue illustration art as a career. My attitude has always been positive, my personal motto .. "I can do anything!" Add to that my passion as a romantic, lover of animals the decision was made to make them the target of my illustrative efforts.

My first pen and ink effort was based on a picture of a bear in Field & Stream Magazine and left me dissatisfied with the finished product. Seeing an advertisement in Artist's Magazine for Kohinoor Rapidograph drawing pens changed everything for me.. the ad included a pen and ink drawing of an elephant and was done in a technique known as stippling and held my imagination and inspiration captive. The blending of dots gave richness to the texture of it's skin, depth to the drawing and literally brought it to life for me. Buying a Rapidograph pen, ink and paper, I set forth on a new love affair with art, animals and life as my drawing expressed the feeling in my very soul.

Each of my pen and ink pieces represents a love affair between us as they are brought to life. Each piece is truly a labor of love.

I'm often asked how long it takes to complete a particular drawing but time becomes meaningless as I create them.

Copies of each picture are available, framed, unframed or enlarged. A variety frames is available. Please ask for a notecard with prices, and enjoy the exhibit of my art.
