2022 Christmas Tree Lighting

On December 3, 2022, as dozens of loyal members gathered around the Roissy Christmas Tree, Maitre René, Founder and Proprieter of Roissy Val d'Oise, presents his holiday address. 

He began by delivering a touching remembrance, "Last Friday we lost Mandy..  she passed away in her sleep. She was a wonderful person, helpful, loyal, friendly and did often give me a smile. I can only
say… Mandy you will always be in my heart and in many others' too."

After many kind and sorrowful comments from those present, Maitre René continued ... with joyful wishes for a beautiful holiday season. He told a short story from O'Henry's "Gift of the Magi" about the pleasures of giving to each other.

He followed with, "The Holidays truly are a time of giving to each other. To enjoy the company of one's family. I wish each and every one of you a very happy Christmas and a peaceful, prosperous and joyful new year. In turning on the lights of the Roissy Val d'Oise Christmas tree I will remind everyone that a Christmas without light is not Christmas

"Let there be light in the soul of all of our hearts.  Let there be no hostilities but forgiveness. This is my wish for all of you, as we turn on the lights of the Christmas tree. Christmas is a time noted for nostalgia and happy memories.  It is a spirit of anticipation and looking forward to the incoming year.

Endearing thoughts of Christmases past that inspire us to hold close the happiness and joy of spending time with our families, friends and loved ones. A time when we remember those, we have loved no longer with us.
