Master Jac0b looks about the room pleased to see all the lovely people from his family in the VDO community. "Hello everyone, I'm Jac0b Romano and welcome to my maitre event.  I would like to give a  little introduction about wine and it's history.  But first of all I would like to take a moment to thank all the Roissy VDO sisters for volunteering their time to make this even a success for me.  I would also like to thank Amaya for this wonderful set up,

"After my introduction you will be lead to the tables in consecutive order were the hostess will give you a brief synopsis of each wine and you may sample it.  You will then be led to the other tables.  Please don't jump tables because of open chat conflicts.

"There are 4 easels.  Click on the poster to gain a note care containing the information.  Following the wine sampling there is a dance for your enjoyment at the pier.

"Wine is regarded as one of the most regal drinks, wine has been an all-time favorite with people all over the world. Available in a plethora of varieties and flavors, the wine is a drink that goes well with almost any cuisine.

"Though you might be a wine lover or may even be a wine connoisseur, how much can you say you know about the origin and history of wine? To your surprise, wine has existed ever since man learned how to settle down and form a civilization.

"The history of wine is closely associated with the origins of agriculture, cuisines and man himself. It has existed since ancient times and is still present in the contemporary times, in a better form.

A little history-of-wine

This became easier to store with the invention of clay pots around 9000 years back. Since the grapes were small and sour, there isn’t really much evidence to indicate that they really made wine.

However, it did pave the way for domestication of grapes later. These domesticated grapes were abundant in the Near East from the beginning of the Early Bronze Age, which started in 3200 BC.

The maximum evidence for wine making was in Sumer and Egypt during the 3rd Millennium BC. Also, the exact place where wine was made first is a mystery, though the most fitting option would be the area stretching from North Africa to Central/South Asia.

Wine in Ancient Greece

It is said the popular contemporary Greek wine named Retsina is a carryover from the time when wine jugs had a lining of tree resin that lent a distinct flavor to the wine. The archaeological sites in Greece had the remnants of 6500 year old grape, which represents the first appearance of wine production in Europe

In ancient Greece, they used partly dehydrated gypsum before fermentation and added some type of lime after fermentation in order to bring down acidity. The Greek wine was exported throughout the Mediterranean basin and thus made its first appearance in ancient Egypt as well

Wine in Ancient Egypt

This happened due to the trade between Egypt and Canaan during the Early Bronze Age. Wine was also an important element that was kept with other articles in tombs for helping in the afterlife.

In ancient Egypt, wine was red in color due to the fact that it was made from red grapes and not pomegranates, as it is believed. Recently, it was discovered for the first time that white wine was also prevalent in ancient Egypt. In the tomb of Tutankhamen, the five clay amphorae had traces of white wine.

Wine in Ancient Rome

In fact, all the major wine producing regions located in Western Europe today, were established by the Romans. The technology for making wine improved drastically and many different varieties of grapes and cultivation techniques were developed.

The Romans were known for their fine wines and when mixed with herbs and minerals, they were supposed to have medicinal properties. Dissolving pearls in wine and drinking it was a common practice

After the fall of the Roman Empire, Europe went into the Dark Ages, however, wine production continued through the only stable structure in the society, the Church.

Wine in the Middle Ages

The East was dominated by vodka and other such spirits. Since wine was important for all Catholic celebrations, a continuous supply was necessary. In France and Germany, the Benedictine monks became one of the largest producers of wine along with other notable producers such as Cistercians, Carthusians, Templars and Carmelites.

The first appellation system in the world was created in Portugal, a country with one of the oldest wine traditions.

Wine in the Modern World

The land that once had the weak vineyards were now put to better use like growing good quality grass for cows to graze on in order to produce some of the finest quality of cheese and butter.

Latin America had its first taste of wine when grapes and wheat were brought by the first Spanish conquistadores to provide the necessities of Catholic Holy Eucharist. In America, wine is grown widely in Argentina, California and Chile.

The wines produced in America were not considered to be of a great quality. It was only after the latter half of the 20th century that American wines were considered as good as the European counterparts

There are thousands of wines in the world, from the typical Cabernet and Chardonnay to the more rare Bull's Blood and Ice Wine.

Food Wine Pairing

Most people know about the popular varieties of wine - chardonnay, cabernet and merlot. It's time to expand your knowledge! There are  over 125 wine descriptions of the wine varieties which might appeal to your palate.

Tips for Getting Into Wine

Many people who were not raised in a wine drinking family decide they want to start drinking wine in their adult years, both because it adds a lovely flavor to meals and because

First off, it would be impossible for me (or any other 3rd party) to tell you what type of wine YOU are likely to enjoy, flavor wise. We all have different taste buds! Maybe you have a sweet tooth and would love the light, White Zinfandel variety.

Maybe you are a tea drinker and would enjoy a red with a bit of tannin in it. Maybe you're a coffee-with-cream drinker and would love a smooth, buttery Chardonnay.

Your best bet here is to order random wines in restaurants, by the glass. Most restaurants serve very "middle of the road" wines that appeal to the widest range of palates. Each time you go out, try a different wine and keep a notebook of which you like, which you don't like and why. There's no right or wrong here.

You are free to hate any wine! But soon you'll see a pattern of what types YOU enjoy, and those are the ones to then try different brands of and learn more about.

Next, people sometimes think that some wines are better for health reasons than other wines. They even go so far as to ask which brands of wine are healthiest! , the big point is that both red AND white wine give benefits - and that the benefit is that the wine comes from a "red grape" and a "white grape".

Researchers don't do research based on brands of wine. They do research on "all wine". The research is then duplicated in other labs using entirely different sets of wine. So really all that matters is you are drinking WINE - and it doesn't matter if it's a bargain $3.99 bottle or an

Most wine drinkers drink a glass of wine with dinner each night, so you should drink a wine you enjoy! You don't want this to be a "chore" you have to do. So choose wines that you like the taste of that fall within your budget range, whatever budget that might be. And give a toast to your health!

"At this time Amaya   will lead you to the first table, where Sana will introduce Cabirnet Savigon , after her information you will be lead to the next table.

"This concludes my presentation of the wine. as a reminder there are easels between the out door tables and chairs that will give a note card upon clicking."

Welcome to the world of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Sana's presentation

This particular wine was created in the seventeenth century, in Southwestern France by an accidental breeding of a Cabernet Franc and white Sauvignon Blanc grape plant.  It is the most popular wine in the United States of America.

Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine that needs to be drunk with food, given its acidity, tannins and alcohol content of over 14%.   It is considered a dry wine with tannin as a main character.

Cabernet sauvignon

Taylor Smitty (taylorsmitty): Love a good cab.

Typical taste in varietal wine: full-bodied, but firm and gripping when young. With age, rich currant qualities change to that of pencil box. Bell pepper notes remain.

Oh I do as well Maitre Taylor.. and happily is it widely available around the globe

It actually wasn’t proven that Cabernet Sauvignon was born from Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc until 1996 by wine researchers at UC Davis, that woudl be the University of California at Davis..

Districts: cabernet sauvignon is planted wherever red wine grapes grow except in the Northern fringes such as Germany. It is part of the great red Médoc wines of France, and among the finest reds in Australia, California and Chile.

Mykal (mykal.mcmahon): bit too dry for me

Perhaps a nice cigar will prepare you for a wine you prefer Master Mykal... please do take a note and sample the wine..

Vanilla notes if present come not from the fruit but from the oak treatment. They increase review ratings but may overwhelm the varietal taste.

Balduino (ericbalduino): the  dryer the better for me Mykal

I might add that this particular red is takenw ith food, often a medium rare or rare steak..

Balduino (ericbalduino): objection Sana

also  ingredients  are  added as  vanilla  for the taste

the oak gives  the tannine  taste  stronger than it is in the red grape

Oh yes Sir Balduino.. and depending where your wine is produced, oak barrels are most popular in Europe

Meribor (meriborressick): May I please ask a question? ~ raising her hand meekly

Balduino (ericbalduino): I  make wine  myself  so I know  about the production proces

Youa re so fortunate Sir

Yes Meribor?

Maverick Broadfoot: making mead is even easire

Meribor (meriborressick): Sana, you said that with age,

the rich currant qualities change to that of a...

pencil box. ~ puzzles at her and giggles

The French oak barrels offer a more refined wine.

Mykal (mykal.mcmahon): there we go...a good mead

Maverick Broadfoot nods

Master Jac0b Romano: If you can hold questions , please you may come back to the hoste3ss and ask, so we cancomplete this and get to the dance

Taylor Smitty (taylorsmitty) takes the glass, swirls it at eye level,

"Ahh nice long  legs, "

He sniffs it and takes a small sip,

holding it in his mouth before swallowing.

" A very naughty cab with a spankable bouquet."

Meribor (meriborressick): Of course, Master Jacob Apologies, E/everyone. ~ smiles around

Master Jac0b Romano: smiles at everone having a good time

Amaya waves her hand "Please might we move to table 2 where our lovely sister Venna will assist you with our next presentation of wine. Thank you Sana for a wonderful job.

Master Jac0b Romano: smiles warmly at sana , beautiful presentation sana

Amaya Rose Shaw (inanna.andel) "Venna will be discussing Savignon blanc I do believe."

"Greetings and welcome to the World of  Chardonnay.."

Venna's Presentation

"Please do help yourself to a glass of this delicious wine whilst I  Tell you all about it"?

"There are some dry crackers to clear your palate in the small bowl." (pretend)

Wile Drezelan (wiledrezelan): Thank you!  You read my mind!

Smiles to the gathered clients and fellow drunks....erm  Tasters".  Slight cough  Aaaa ugh!  and begins.

The Chardonnay vine, Pronounced (Shar-doe-nay) is a green-skinned grape variety, used to make white wine. It originated in the Burgundy wine region of eastern France, but is now grown wherever wine is produced, from England to New Zealand.  For new and developing wine regions, growing".

"Chardonnay was the most popular white grape through the 1990’s. It can be made sparkling or still.

"Chardonnay is an important component of many sparkling wines around the world, including Champagne"..

"Typical taste in varietal wine: often wider-bodied (and more velvety) than other types of dry whites, with rich citrus (lemon, grapefruit) flavours".

"Fermenting the wine in new oak barrels adds a buttery tone (vanilla, toast, coconut, toffee)".

Amaya Rose Shaw (inanna.andel) reaches over and takes a glass of the wine

Mykal (mykal.mcmahon): a bit more my tatste

Wile Drezelan (wiledrezelan): Yes?

"Tasting a $15 Californian Chardonnay should give citrus fruit flavours, hints of melon, vanilla, some toasty character and some creaminess. Burgundy whites can taste very different".

"FOOD & WINE PAIRING:  Chardonnay i is a good choice for fish and chicken dishes".

"I HOPE YOU HAVE ENJOYED THE TASTE OF THIS DELICIOUS WINE".

"Please remember to clear your palate before tasting the next".

Amaya Rose Shaw (inanna.andel) smiles to venna "thank you so much for the informative information on Chardonnay." looks out as everyone finishes their glass.  "Please allow me to escort you to table 3 for a sample of merlot presented by our lovely sister Juliette."

Hello and welcome to the smooth easy taste of Merlot wine?

Juliette's Presentation

Juliette pushes a tray of crackers forward

Say it with me "mer lo" -- the "t" is silent.  Merlot is a very easy to drink wine and because of what is considered a "soft" taste , it has made it an "introducing" wine for new red-wine drinkers.

Amaya Rose Shaw (inanna.andel) picks of another glass of the wine as she passes smiling more.

Please take a sip and let your tongu swim in it for a second... there's a bowl if you wish to spit it out..

Merlot grapes produce a red wine with flavors and aromas of black cherry, berries, plum, chocolate, and some herbs. Merlot wine is popular with people trying to get accustomed to drier, more complex red wines because of its other characteristics, like low tannins which make it easier to drink than other reds wines.

Jax (bahramsasani): "spit it out?... Whaaaaat????"

ori (orianevillette): chocolate?

Juliette grins at Sir Jax

Gillian Darkwatch (gillian.gemini) chuckles ..you have to pay if you swallow

Maverick Broadfoot nods at Ori

Yes chocolate.. Juliette smiles at Ori

Sandi (sandi.whybrow): takes another couple of crackers to eat..

clearing her palate as instructed..

feeling very sophisticated

Omg Gillian... giggles

As i already shared, the softer characteristics of Merlot with the fruity flavors make it a red wine that's well-suited to lighter foods that won't overwhelm the flavors of the wine.

Gillian Darkwatch (gillian.gemini): laughs

More experienced wine drinkers (glances at Sir Bauurino) sometimes see these characteristics as disadvantages and prefer Merlot when mixed with other, more complex red grape varieties — especially those that are harsher alone and can benefit from softening. Nevertheless, it is possible to create complex, interesting wines from Merlot grapes.

Merlot pairs beautifully with many foods—try it with pâtés or other charcuterie, pork or veal roasts, rich, cheesy gratins and even hamburgers. That’s because Merlot blends so well with other grapes, and also because of its fruity, easy-drinking character.

ori (orianevillette): wine with a hamburger?

Did you know there is both red merlot and white merlot

Maverick Broadfoot: why not?

Sandi (sandi.whybrow): tastes the rich wine,

glistening red in my glass and wrinkles my nose at it

Why not... Juliette smiles at  Sir Maverick and Ori

I personally don't eat beef but hey

White Merlot is produced in the same fashion as White Zinfandel, though this blush version of Merlot isn't as common as the blush version of Zinfandel. The Merlot grapes are crushed as usual, but the skins are only left with the grape juice for a short period of time before they are removed. This causes the final wine to be slightly colored, but not as deeply red as normal Merlot is.

Taylor Smitty (taylorsmitty): I can drink Merlot with a tuna sandwich.

Juliette grins at Maitre Taylor

Taylor Smitty (taylorsmitty): love Merlot

The district that is the key player in the Bordeaux blend, is merlot and this wine is now also grown on the US West Coast, Australia, and other countries.

Maria (yimita88.kiergarten) hides a hiccup with a cough

Juliette  smiles at Maria

The typical taste in Merlot, which is concered a varietal wine: is black-cherry and herbal flavours. The texture is round but a middle palate gap is common.

My photos show you the typical color of merlot wine and also the lovely vine it comes from...

You can get a a notecard by touching the Merlot table sign for future reference or of course revisit this table and we can talk details... *smiles, wiggling my eyebrows*

Sandi (sandi.whybrow): tastes her wine again

looking for the flavors of black cherry and herbs

I hope you all will enjoy merlot as well as all the other flavors shared here with you today.

Master  Jac0b Romano smiles at Juliette

Thank you.... smiles at Master JacOb

Maria (yimita88.kiergarten): "the wines are very different and is an interesting experience"

Please take a full glass if you love it!

Sandi (sandi.whybrow): finishes off her merlot glass and sets it back on the table

The End.

Juliette giggles and glances at Gillian

Maitre Dusty Caldera raises my hand looks out over the wonderful crowd that has gathered for this event "These ladies certainly seem to know their wines. I will have to keep my eye on the wine cabinet in the Château  *winks*

Master Jac0b Romano: nicely done

Gillian grins back at Juliette

Maitre Dusty Caldera: I don't want to interrupt too much of your wine drinking of course but I wanted to present something to Master Jac0b before I had to leave.

Amaya Rose Shaw (inanna.andel) smiles to juliette watching how everyone is drinking so much "thank you Juliette for the loveing presentation let us move to table four Pinot Noir presented by Sister Gillian."

Maitre Dusty Speaks

As you know this event is Jac0b's last task on his path to Maitre. The path to Maitre is not for the casual Master or Mistress that simply desires a higher tag, rather the Maitre path represents a more mature dominant that represents Roissy Val d’Oise well in all areas and is frequently active on the sim.

Only those who truly want to give back to the community attempt the Maitre path. It takes dedication, perseverance and a loyalty to the community and the lifestyle that we support here. I believe that Jac0b demonstrates all of those qualities and is truly committed to our wonderful family.

Juliette (surrealdreaming) smiles at Master JacOb

Master Jac0b has continually shown not only his extensive experience as a dominant man is also demonstrated his knowledge and understanding of D/s relationships as well as BDSM techniques.   He has helped many with their discussions on safe words limits, and basic collar usage.

Master Jac0b has fulfilled the obligations of his training path, with a wonderful workshop that was well received and now this amazing wine tasting and dance event caps it all.  He also has mentored some of our dominant numbers toward their advancement.   Not an easy task as some of you know.
