As the Chateau clock struck 9AM, Maitre Thomas welcomed the assembled Family:

"Welcome all my friends, guests and a heartfelt thank you for joining us this early morning/afternoon as we celebrate the perseverance that Jo has shown to complete his journey and achieve his full Master tag, and now joins the ranks of the many fine Masters of Roissy Val D'Oise.

"Dominant Interns  endure their phase of no-touchiness- ( chuckles a bit) As I was saying, as Interns proceed to  the Dominant role and begin work on their path task, like any other journey, where one seeks to learn and complete work and yet learn a great deal about themselves and the others around them.

"Many surprise  themselves how much they learn. We should be proud that our program at Roissy is well known and respected in our world.Learning Dominants here find the others around them, enjoy teaching one another from their wealth of wisdom.

"At Roissy Val d'Oise, we believe that being a Master of the Chateau is an achievement to be truly earned through hard effort, education and practical experience exercising new concepts.

"We also entrust our Dominants to follow the rules and set a good example for everyone, fellow Dominants and submissives alike.Honesty, integrity is what we value most in a Dominant at Roissy Val d'Oise. Jo has been a pleasure to work with and his perseverance is noted by myself and the community I am sure."

"Before I turn the floor over to  Jo  and his guest speakers, I wish to present his Master ring that has been made for the Masters of Roissy VDO."

The “New” Master Jo stands and accepts the ring from Maitre Thomas, shaking his hand, “Thank you very much Thomas, you will never know how much this means to me."

Maitre Thomas returns the handshake, "We are honored to have you in our community as we are with the rest of our family here. I know  that you will continue the hard work you have demonstrated so far as you continue this next part of your journey in our community.

"On behalf of Rene, I give this to you as well as one who now joins the ranks of the Masters of the Chateau."

Maitre Thomas then turned the floor over to Master Jo, who gives a pump fist and a “YEAH”

Master Jo then calls out to his Mentor  “Brinker… Come on up mate! Everyone, let me introduce my mentor, the man who kept in touch with me, encouraging me to keep going, making sure I still alive, answering my questions, reading my logs over, giving his thumbs up, not once, but twice … over to you my brother."

Master Brinker smiles and addresses the assembled guests. "Hello everyone. So happy to see so many here.I couldn't be prouder for anything, really, in SL, than to congratulate this deserving gentleman from Australia, Jo, for earning his Master ring today..

“He was from the very beginning a bright, enthusiastic member of our community. He bombarded me with good questions -- questions many new dominants either don't think of or assume don't matter (but they do). He exhibited a great curiosity -- always making sure his behavior aligned with both Roissy rules and the actions of a good dominant leader.

“Like Quin and a few others in wildly different time zones from SLT, Jo is at a disadvantage in finding subs, workshops, and other timed situations that fit into his waking hours. But he never complained. He managed to stretch that clock to his advantage and complete his log assignments with relative ease -- something I would probably growl about I'm sure.

“As I mentioned earlier, Jo isn't afraid to ask questions. He has challenged me as his mentor – to think about things like, how do you push a limit so a sub "almost" calls a yellow. Or ... how do you demonstrate using a collar when you can't know every possible command? My favorite discussion was about the kinds of knots you should teach a sub to use when doing the binding scene.

“He takes his path here seriously, and I respect that. But he mixes good humor into everything as well. You have to have a sense of humor, I think, to balance your personality and give life, even Second Life, perspective.

“Jo is a good Master. He isn't here just to flirt, or sit and tease and disappear later. He really wants to develop the kind of trust that real Masters share with subs -- the kind that is earned. He has worked hard to learn and grow and earn his tag.

“Congratulations, Jo, on your well-deserved promotion as a Master at Roissy Val d’Oise.”

Looking down to where Sister Staci is kneeling, Master Jo bids her stand and address the guests.
“Staci, my finals sister. Please everyone, welcome her up”

Stepping forward nervously, Staci turns and begins to speak. “A siren’s call at another sim is what first brought Master Jo here to us at Roissy Val d’Oise.  Granted it didn’t turn out as he had thought it would but he has found his family here at Roissy Val d’Oise.

“I didn’t have the pleasure to meet Master Jo when he first came to the sim, due to health concerns and time away.  When I got back there were so many to meet.  So when Maitre Thomas asked me if I would be willing to be a Sister for a final, I said yes, wanting to get back into serving our community here.  I felt so honored to have been asked.

“I didn’t know what to expect when I sent the message to Master Jo, introducing myself and asking when would be convenient for us to meet.  He responded the very next day.  We got together about three times and the time, each time, always seemed to fly before we met for his final.

"During the moments that we had, I think I grilled him.  Thankfully he has an amazing sense of humor, and as you all know me, imp that I am, I was surprised I didn’t annoy him.  I asked him questions about how he learned of D/s, how he came to Roissy, even his most cherished memories here so far.  No matter what I asked him, he was patient, kind, and so interesting to talk to.

“As Master Jo and I spoke, as it takes me time to relax, he worked hard at making sure I was comfortable, that I trusted him.  He put me at ease with his jovial nature.  I saw in him the care and understanding a Dominant of Roissy should have for any submissive here.  I also got the pleasure to hear about some of the amazing people he met here.

“As we all know our paths are intense and some find someone so special.  So there was that one person that he spoke of.  I loved hearing about his time with that person as well as all the other people he had come to know.  It was like I got to see it even though I wasn’t there.

"During the negotiation for the scene, he made sure to ask about limits, things I loved, what might get me to feel the scene intensely.  He listened to all I said.I did tell him I didn’t want to know the plan, that I like the surprise of serving as the Dominant wishes and that the only condition I had was that anything on my kinks and limits card that said “No” after it he didn’t cross or try to push.As I tend not to have tons of things that are absolute hard limits, this allowed him the ability to show me his dominance and creativity.   He exceeded my expectations.

”During the scene, immediately he took me off balance.  He took control, he pushed me, and believe me if he hadn’t ended the last part when he did I would have used my safe word, it was that intense.

“What I saw in him was someone who will not abuse the submissives here, someone who cares for his partner, and someone who has honor, integrity, and honesty.  He is also one who wishes to grow and learn.I believe Master  Jo will make an excellent Master here at Roissy.

"During the aftercare, he asked me how he could have done better.  We talked, joked, and then parted.  He checked in with me for about a week to make sure I was good.  I look forward to seeing how he grows as he continues upon his path.  Congratulations Master Jo, I am blessed to have gotten to know you and be your finals Sister."

Master Jo stands and then with emotion looks at all The Family attending. “You know.. I’ll always remember my first time at Roissy.I had been frequenting a club Emma used to DJ at when I noted in her profile that she did sets at the docks in a place called “VdO Roissy”.I decided to check it out and when looking for the docks after arriving at the landing point I ended up wandering down to the Chateau and was completely lost.

”Once I finally found myself at the docks I looked around on the dance floor and noticed some girls dancing by themselves and plucked up the courage to ask a few of them to dance with me.After getting turned down a few times one of them came back to me and we started dancing and chatting.

“I would come back here after that first time semi-regularly and would ask a different girl to dance with me almost every time.I remember thinking that every time I met someone new at Roissy it felt like an interview, where we check off our sexual likes and dislikes.

“Before I knew it I was getting to know some pretty intimate knowledge from people I’d just met. I learned quickly that the people of Roissy were very friendly, open and welcoming.
I enjoyed talking to everyone and soon I found myself in front of DomTriphone interviewing to become an Intern. Only knowing the very basics of BDSM and with the knowledge that I was indeed a Dominant.

“I had a drive to know more, to learn what it was to be a Dominant and to explore this thing that I knew I needed to know more about. My journey of self discovery began and I spent quite some time talking to various people, Dom and sub alike, learning from each of them, even spending lots of time searching the internet for things like a satisfactory definition of what a scene was.

“Learning in the Tea Room Library then at the “Initiating a scene” workshop that even vanilla activities as simple as asking a submissive to get me a cup of coffee could be called a scene as long as there was some element of power exchange blew my mind but then to also learn that scenes can last for many hours and transport both sub and Dom to heights of space and back down again, landing softly with aftercare..

“It’s no secret that I was a newbie to BDSM when I came here and I’ve learned so much about myself, D/s, Power Exchange and this lifestyle and I’ve only just begun to learn and explore. I look forward to what the future might hold here and in other places I will experience.

“Thomas mentioned that people often learn more than they expected when they come here...... That was certainly me. I would like to give a warm thank you to the people here for getting me started. I thank Rene for providing this place, for keeping it up and running, DomTriphone for letting me in the door and accepting me as an Intern, Thomas for heading up the leadership team and supervising.

“Thank you Gillian and the rest of the team for doing the stuff behind the scenes that need to be done to keep the place running smoothly. I would also like to thank the people who transformed the Chatteau and the dancehall. I’d like to thank Staci, my wonderful final sister. I didn’t know her from a bar of soap when her name was given to me for my finals.I had never seen her around, I even checked all my chat logs for any sign of her. From the first I enjoyed our talks, as brief as they were… our first conversation lasted only half an hour and felt like a bit of a power date where we had multiple conversation topics all happening at once.I have to hand it to her.. Not many people can keep up with me when I get started, but she did well.

“Over that next week, *looks over the top of his glasses* and that’s all the time we had folks, we talked about many different things, not just the scene, and I feel I got to know her a bit more than just a someone to do a scene with, she’s an honest soul with lots of stories to tell and I look forward to reading them.

“Staci, I’m happy that I didn’t live up to your initial impression of me. I am also very pleased that you were selected as my finals sister, and I thank you again for not going easy on me. Thank you also for accommodating the SLT+18 time difference.

“Thank you Brinker for your support and guidance. I will always remember you telling me, with frustration, that the rope binding scene “isn’t THAT difficult, just tell them to tie each other up, just emote the rest

“Funny story everyone… that was the last thing I did before my workshop as I was thinking “I use bungee cord and ratchet straps on my car to hold things to the roof racks, how am I going to teach anything about rope binding to experienced submissives?

“Seriously though, thank you Brinker for keeping in touch, encouraging me, for giving me pointers, for reading and helping me with my logs.

“Other thanks go out to Opie and Rebel, many a question was sent their way, some, though they might not know it, when I was desperate for an answer and guidance.

“Sam Cabot…. Mmmaaaattteee!!, Brother, … one of my biggest supporters I am honoured to call you friend. Thank you so very much for your support and friendship. We seriously need to have a beer some time… or a whiskey.

"The girls that helped me in my logs, whether it was a workshop, a discussion, a scene, whatever. You might remember who you are, too many to name right now so please forgive me if I don’t start listing you out because I might miss some.

“Callie, my gem, my Angel, you were there at the very beginning… the very first person I asked to serve me a drink, and you’ve been with me the whole time. You’ve been with me through the highs and through the lows, you know me better than anyone, better than I know myself sometimes. The girl who has filled my logs more than anyone. Thank you also for producing the ceremony texture. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

“I think that’s about all I have to say for the time being”

Amid much applause and congratulations, Master Jo returns the floor to Maitre Thomas. Maitre Thomas goes to where the Australian Shiraz has been waiting, pours a goblet, and invites the gathered guest to join him in a toast to the new Master.

“I also wish to take the opportunity to also thank Rene, for providing all of this..our home our, our  life to us, and for having the vision to bring us all together.  We are a large diverse group with many things to share, and It warms my heart for  having all of this to share with each and everyone.

“Jo is pretty nice guy, even if the cars in his country have the turn signal on the opposite side from everyone else. When I made a turn, the windshield wipers would activate instead. Yep there comes the yank they said.

“Thank you all very much for joining us here, to celebrate with Jo..but there is more to come...You are all dismissed  now, lets go dance and celebrate with Jo at the Ballroom with DJ Rebel, immediately following.”
