The following speeches were given on Master Lazarus' behalf during his Master Ceremony.
MAITRE THOMAS
"Thank you for joining us this evening as we celebrate the work that Lazarus Quixote has completed on his journey to achieving his full Master tag, and as he joins the ranks of the many fine Masters of Roissy Val D'Oise," announced Maitre Thomas. "When first meeting Lazarus at the Landing, I remember quipping "wow Lazarus are you up ?"
"Lazarus or as we know him as "Laz", came to me with his almost completed Dom log from the previous Dom Supervisor. We quickly and easily worked out the details for his path to finish. I also want to mention what a wonderful family we have here ar Roissy Val D'Oise and to thank you all for your excellent work and role play. You are what make this sim what it is today. Thank you.
"After applicants receive their Dominant tag and begin work on their log of task, it is much like any other journey where one seeks to learn and complete work and yet learn a great deal about themselves and the others around them. They find the others around them, both Dominants and submissives alike teaching one another from their store of wisdom.
"At Roissy Val d'Oise, we believe that being a Master of the Chateau is an achievement to be earned. We ask our Dominants to demonstrate their diligence in learning about our culture here at VdO and BDSM in general, to express their knowledge and understanding of critical components in this lifestyle, and to exhibit skill in building creative, enjoyable and erotic scenes with the submissive women in our community.
"Not everyone who begins this journey completes it. Those who do complete it do so because they don't give up, they keep moving forward. Many come here looking for a chance to have RP; most who make it through to earn their Master's tag discover much more than that. They discover a chance to learn, or re-learn about themselves and about BDSM in a warm, encouraging, growing community that takes it's heart from the Story of O.
"Tonight we're here to celebrate one of our own who has done the work, fulfilled his requirements and given of his time and energy to reach this achievement.
"Laz , has turned in his log, and successfully completed his final task, so tonight we are here to celebrate what he has accomplished in his time here and his commitment to roleplay, and to welcome him to the ranks of the Masters of the Chateau."
MAITRE RENE
"I want to thank all the wonderful people who work hard to make our great community what it is. Lazarus is just one of many. And this evening it is him who we celebrate. Many of you have been celebrated in the past, and i see many more who will have their special day in the future.
" Our community depends on all of you working together. You are what make Roissy Val d'Oise what it is today. I have seen him grow in his domination skills, I credit this to his willingness to attend the workshops , his time devoted here and to his social skills, getting to know the submissives and other dominates, making lasting friendships along the way. We learn from one another.
"The journey is one like many others. Whether it be graduating from school, college, or any other accomplishment. It is one that takes great effort, so we commend Lazarus this evening. Congratulations Lazarus!"

"I would like to say I highly recommend Sir Lazarus to become a full Master of Roissy Val d' Oise. He has shown me the true meaning of what a Master should be. He has shown respect for this wonderful place Maitre Rene shares with us and the rules that support the morals of this place many of us call home. Sir Lazarus and I spent several hours chatting and getting to know each other before attempting to scene.
"He did not just come to me and say you have been assigned to me for my final task. Instead, He came to me as a respectful dom and asked to dance and spend time getting to know each other and build a scene with all the elements required in the written assigned task.
"Sir Lazarus , I would say you are one of the best example setters i have ever met, always wanting to do the right thing and treating the person you are scening with in a respectful manner. I knew right away you were more than a mere character, you were a true being.
"A submissive is only as good as the Dominant allows her to be with His guidance to help her flourish and grow, i know You say with out submissives there would be no need for Dominates, But in my humble opinion a submissive is nothing but a lost soul with out a good Dominate. and You Sir Lazarus are one..
"I am thankful for any of the time that i got to spend with Him, and am sure that any of you who have had the time to get to know Him feel the same way about Him...He has many characteristics of a great Dominant.. Self Discipline.. ..Guiding, Integrity, Honor, Concise, Nuturing, Caring, and Trustworthy..
"Sir Lazarus it was with great honor to serve you and submit to you. It will be a privilege to call you Master Lazarus. Any submissive will be a lucky one to honor your collar.
"My words will never fully describe His abilities and Mastering skills He has shown as a Sir. The mere words I speak will never do Him Justice. His devotion touched my heart in so many ways.
"Sir Lazarus, may you continue to grow and learn as we strive to make Roissy Val d' Oise a stronger community as we ban together.... Congratulations Master Lazarus!"
MAITRE KURT
"It is a good thing you are sitting. i have prepared a 45 minute speech for you.
"I first met Lazarus when I returned to Roissy from my summer vacation. I was encouraged to see dominants of his caliber and character newly arrived at the community. He seemed to know more about the community than I did. We became friends quickly and I have noticed he is friends with everyone he meets.
"His friendly attitude along with his expressions of kindness greatly added to the brotherhood we have here at Roissy. It is not common for the dominants to get to know much about each other. But Lazarus is not only the type of person who we know as intelligent, witty, caring and dedicated, he is also someone we want to be close to and someone we feel good to be around as well.
"As a dominant he moved quickly but thoroughly through his tasks and showed his skill in dominance. However, more important than the way the dominants feel about him, it is the way the girls here at Roissy feel about him and how they feel about themselves after being with him. It was a pleasure to hear reports now and then from the girls who scened with Lazarus. And what I heard was completely consistent with my interaction with him.
"The submissives said he made them feel good, he made them feel special. They say he has feelings, and is kind and expresses that kindness sincerely. I would hope that his character and demeanor is not that uncommon here in this community, but he certainly adds to the fabric of our lives here.
"Congratulations, Lazarus, your promotion to Master is well deserved and a big plus to this community."
MASTER LAZARUS' SPEECH
"I have a prepared speech... but, I seem to have a mist in my eyes. Please, bear with me.
"Hello everyone. I am honored that you took the time to be with us today. I know how hard that can be sometimes. I will tell you that my comments will be short.
"When I was told I would actually have to say something rather than just stand around with a stupid grin pasted on my face, I blinked. I had forgotten that part! Whenever I am given the opportunity to speak, I normally feel obligated to say something profound or at least worthwhile. But, when I look back at my Path, the most worthwhile things I have found have been in you people. It is you who have helped shape me and make me a better Dom and a better human being. This is what is important to say.
"I have loved some of you. I have fought with a couple of you. There are still a few of you I would like to know more of... or is it see more of? I get confused. But, I am a better man today because I have known you and learned from you. i often think of those poor girls who were my first role play and how tolerant they were and kind. No doubt they are surprised to see me up here! Subs taught me with their submission and care taking.
"I think of the Doms who were so willing to coach me and offer a hand. They never seemed to doubt me and I owe them a lot. Because there were days on the Path that I doubted myself. Doms taught me with their confidence and care taking.
"I can't leave out the our leadership/admins here. I have never seen such dedication and they were truly inspiring. I am sure I would have lost my way without their organization and care taking.
"I am a better person than I was because of my time here with you all. And, that is why I came to Roissy in the first place. And, it is all of you that make Roissy such a special place. I would also like to offer my personal thanks to Thomas, Mentors Kurt and Thomas, and Vette for tonight.
"Taylor, I mean to say. And, as always, I would also like to thank Rene for the gift of this wonderful sim. It is unlike any other in SL and I feel honored to be a small part of the family his vision has created."
In conclusion...
"Friends," announced Maitre Thomas, "lets all go and enjoy the dance in the Garden and the Live entertainment (JoeUSA), we have arranged to celebrate Laz's achievement.."
To which, Master Lazarus said, "Yes, let's!"
