A lovely gathering of family and friends celebrated the progression of Sir RodBarr to Master Rod.  Opie as his mentor spoke to his path and achieving the goals set.  Emma in her beautiful red gown confirmed that Master RodBarr did indeed negotiate his scenes while pushing limits having created an imaginative roleplay scenario.  His methods were safe and consensual as required by Roissy Val d'Oise.

Thomas :  Welcome all my friends and a hearty thank you for joining us this morning as we celebrate the perseverance that Rod has shown to complete his journey and achieve his full Master tag, and now joins the ranks of the esteemed Masters of Roissy Val D'Oise.

After Dominant Interns receive their Dominant role and begin work on their path task, it is much like any other journey where one seeks to learn and complete work and yet learn a great deal about themselves and the others around them.

The path here is one of learning patience and learning the fundamentals of BDSM. Rod has shown he can learn both.

At Roissy Val d'Oise, we believe that being a Master of the Chateau is an achievement to be truly earned through hard effort, education and practical experience exercising new concepts. We ask our Dominants to demonstrate their diligence in learning about our culture here at VDO and BDSM in general, to express their knowledge and understanding of critical components in this lifestyle and to exhibit skill in building creative, enjoyable and erotic scenes with the submissives in our community.

We also entrust our Dominants to follow the rules and set a good example for everyone, fellow Dominants and submissives alike.   Honesty, integrity is what we value most in a Dominant at Roissy Val d'Oise.   I wish to present his Master ring that has been made for the Masters of Roissy VDO.

Rod on behalf of Rene, I give this to you, as myself  as Dominant Supervisor,  to you  as you join the ranks of the Masters of the Chateau.

Rod : I am pleased to invite Courtisan Sister Emma up, to speak for me.  Know, Emma needed to work hard to satisfy my requirements for our final scene, while balancing her other lives.  For that I very much appreciate her, and honor her.

Emma: Master Rod and I first chatted not long after his acceptance as an Intern, over many months.
I was lucky enough to be asked to take part in our newly titled Master Rod’s final.

From the first steps Master Rod showed a lot of understanding of how to build trust while also having clear expectations and requirements for his finals.   He showed he has no issue taking the lead while still being able to listen to concerns and address them with a really imaginative flair.   Master Rod wove a beautiful and challenging scene without ever losing his control of it, his strength and certainty in his Dominance really shone through at every step.

It would be a lie to say our scene was easy, Master Rod set us some really challenging concepts, but I could see his genuine care and concern throughout his Finals. My well-being was clearly key and that made even the most challenging parts easier.

Thank you Master Rod for a phenomenal scene, and for allowing me to be a part of your journey here at Roissy VdO, I wholeheartedly recommend you for your Master title and I wish you many years of happiness and fun here.

Opie: Before I begin, let me say what an honor it is to have been asked by Sam, as well as by Rod to participate in his graduation, and this celebration of his success!  Now let me share a few words from Sam...

It has been an honor and pleasure to mentor Rod. He came to Roissy seeking to learn and grow, and I dare say he has achieved that.  Here is a dominant who wasn't chasing tags, or cozying up with influential people to make his path a cakewalk. He actually took the time to learn, not just go through the motions. He learned the rules, and respected them.

Even when it was inconvenient. He didn't try to bend rules, or pretend he forgot a rule when it made it difficult for him. That shows character.

Rod is a pretty independent guy, with his own way of doing things. He does not try to fit other people's definitions of labels, but stays true to his core. When I offered advice, he listened with an open mind, keeping ego out of the way, and took what worked him. That shows confidence and humility

All in all, I can say this with complete confidence - He is just the kind of dominant for Roissy.  Rod, my friend, hearty congratulations to you. You deserve this tag, you worked hard for it and earned it. And Roissy deserves more dominants like you.

I first came to second life two years ago. I was seeking an outlet for the real lifestyle I had lost back then due to the pandemic.  Munches and small groups had shut down and this isolated me. I missed them, events and lifestylers, they really had been integral to who I am. I so missed the inherent respect we gift to each other, the expressions of dominance and submission that come so naturally, that overwhelm sensations so completely,  its disappearance was a void within me. In the summer of 2020 I was ready to try anything, even explore this thing called virtual in a place some friends had talked about, Secondlife.  I had never been a virtual gamer, but, why not?

For my first months inworld I was like any virtual newcomer, I floundered learning how to walk, dress, shop and get around. I fascinated at the expression of imaginations in the builds and enjoyed the music streams, learned to virtual dance even.  I started searching for my outlet, but the lifestyle hollowness inside was unabated.  I found vampire clans mythos not interesting, and Gorean play failed my concept of respect in so many ways. My real life’s work and travel made me an intermittent visitor to virtual, it still does, which didn’t help me sink roots into anything.

A random encounter with a Roissy VdO Master with a long discussion of the lifestyle, the existence of an organized sim promoting learning, sharing, discussing the lifestyle, plus the hint of way above average skilled roleplayers within the structures of DS BDSM play,, well,, intrigued me. I soon went to check it out. The welcome this stranger got at the landing zone here impressed me. I took the tour, was charmed by the Deb showing me around, sipped the kool-aide, and started attending random workshops and ad hoc discussions. I found the sim library, and I observed interactions and I chatted.  It felt like Ds BDSM home. Around 18 months ago I joined the Path, and here we are today.

I want to continue now in gratitude for the many encounters I have enjoyed here at Roissy, both small and large. I found Dominants willing to talk, to listen, and to provide their insights to me. I started here with modest-to-average virtual role play skills, we explored how to focus them.  I found the submissives equally open to me, helpful in my Path, teaching me the value of learning person, finding connection with them, and the discovery that emotes did not have to be elegant pose, but explosively felt emotes, so reminiscent to the real life scenes I had known, a discovery that truly rocked me. Now the simpliest touch often sends real life heat through me.

My dear Sister Emma, for all the work that went into arranging and planning our Final Scene, its actual occurrence went by in an instant it seemed,, I never saw 7 hours disappear so fast, and with such satisfaction felt by both.  Maitre Thomas, you tentatively accepted the challenge of my workshop topic, and devoted the time with me to get it to work. I appreciate that, and the chance to bring such a controversial topic, Breath Play, into the light of discussion and evaluation, its pros and cons. It is what a learning sim needs to do.

Finally, thank you family,  your support and acceptance has gotten me here, and a Master Rod does intend to support the sim as best I can going forward.
