As fans of Sam Cabot crowded into the beautifully decorated black and gold themed patio, Thomas look around and calmed the buzz, "Please discontinue the greetings to each other so we can get this joyous event started." Then he began.

"Welcome all my friends and a hearty thank you for joining us this morning as we celebrate the perseverance that Sam, has completed his journey and achieved his full Master tag, and now joins the ranks of the many fine Masters of Roissy Val D'Oise.
"After applicants receive their Dominant role and begin work on their path task, it is like any other journey where one seeks to learn and complete work. But at the same time learn a great deal about themselves and the others around them. They find the others around them, both Dominants and submissives alike teaching one another from their wealth of wisdom. It is a journey of discover, of developing friendships and many other things
"At Roissy Val d'Oise, we believe that being a Master of the Chateau is an achievement to be truly earned through hard effort, education and practical experience exercising new concepts. We ask our Dominants to demonstrate their diligence in learning about our culture here at VdO and BDSM in general, to express their knowledge and understanding of critical components in this lifestyle and to exhibit skill in building creative, enjoyable and erotic scenes with the submissive girls in our community.
"We do know as a family, not everyone who begins this journey completes it. Those who do complete it do so because they don't give up, they keep moving forward. Many come here looking for a chance to have good role-play; most that make it through to earn their Master's tag discover much more than that. "Sam has developed many friendships here and I join with you all in pride and happiness that he has reached this new level in our community" to which Sam smiles and bows in humility. "Sam and I have had a few lengthly discussions about worthy topics such as fine Scotch, and those huge British power plugs." (Giggles from the crowd)

"Before I turn the floor over to Sam and his guest speakers, I wish to present his Master ring that has been made for the Masters of Roissy VDO." At that Sam gets up and walks up to Thomas, shakes his hand "Thank you Thomas."
Thomas extends his hand and offers, "Sam on behalf of Rene, I give this to you as well as one who now joins the ranks of the Masters of the Chateau. It is given with my full endorsement and also appreciation."
The new Master smiles as he looks at the ring and admires it. Thinks of getting down on one knee, but stops. "Thank you for this Thomas. I hope I and my actions keep me worthy of being called a master of Roissy, and more important deserve to be seen as a true dominant" Slips the ring on.
Thomas puts his hand on his shoulder, "We are honored to have you in our community Sam, as we are with the rest of our family here. I know that you will continue the hard work you have demonstrated so far as you continue this next part of your journey in our community. I look forward to working with you, sir. Sam, the floor is all yours"
Sam nods as he looks at Thomas "Thank you. I hope to continue my journey of self improvement, learning and contributing to the sim" He turns to face everyone, clears his throat. " I came to Roissy after an SL search for BDSM sims. I had no idea of what to expect. Imagine my surprise to see men in suits, well dressed women who weren't running around topless or naked. I knew this is my kind of a bdsm place. Classy. Then I met Loki, who helped me understand the place better, and helped me on the path. It would be remiss of me to not acknowledge his help and guidance in those early days and his friendship since then. And then I met another man, one who is universally loved and respected at Roissy. He carries himself with dignity and class. I am proud to have been mentored by him and hope I can be equally helpful to others. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the man with smooth music, class and a sharp wit, Chicagosax."

Chicagosax Stands, walks over to Sam, checks out his new tag, and offers our usual fist bump, and Sam fist bumps and goes to his chair.
“Thank you my brother, Sam.” Chicago nods to Thomas as he turns and looks into the faces of the lovely girls and manly men. "A mentoring program in which we try to match people up with mentors isn't easy, When the two have no prior connection, it's really hard.
"People on both sides of a mentor/mentee relationship must be willing to find that "extra time" to get to know, communicate with, and trust each other. This is more significantly true in a physical world which is divided into 24 time zones. When it works though, it can be great.
"A mentor points the mentee towards a wide range of resources, and encourages them to talk with other people and gather a range of opinions. The rest is up to them. A mentor is a cheerleader, and supporting Sam has been easy. I've had the distinct pleasure of mentoring him for many months, and have witnessed his growth as a dominant. Sam and I have had many discussions regarding his path, goals, and excellent progress. We brainstormed a bit as he began formulating his thoughts regarding his Master's Workshop, "So... You Want to Explore Power Exchange", which looked at both sides of the D/s dynamic.
"Sam has established himself as being a straightforward and caring dominant and - I'd dare to say - one of the favorites among the submissives." (Chuckles, giggles among the audience members) He looks back at his notes, then to Sam. “I have no doubt that Sam will continue to grow and become an excellent Master of Roissy, and I will gladly support him in his future endeavors. Congratulations to my mentee, brother, and our newest Master. The floor is yours, Sam.”
"Thank you for your kind words and for the constant encouragement and guidance along the way.
Master Sam takes another deep breath and turns to look at Thomas for a second before facing the crowd
"When Thomas assigned me my final task..." looks at Thomas and laughs "...I kid you not, I thought - Are you kidding me? You want me to demonstrate all these abilities in ONE task? I know each final is customized to challenge the dominant, but this assignment looks like a plan to make sure I fail"
"I met Cali a few times, spent time dancing and chatting, and as we kept making our connection stronger, our trust in each other grew. "Okay... I am a little bit weepy after hearing that. Thank you Master." ::fingers shaking...checks her speech notes:: "My first memories of Sir Sam are from the amazing comments he makes during Maitre Thomas' discussions. For a long time, we would converse in IMs discussing and debating whatever topic that was on the menu that day. Since the beginning we have had light hearted laughter permeate every bit of our time in getting to know each other. But mostly, I enjoyed those moments in IM when we would debate... I remember asking him if I could be of help for any part of his log... hoping that he would choose me for a discussion so that we could once more have a reason to get together and debate, but I remember him telling me that he did not need my help with his logs.
"It was hard for me to hear, but now, I think that it was a blessing in disguise because so many months later, it allowed me the opportunity to spend time with him in being chosen to do his Final Exam. This exam was scheduled during one of the most difficult weeks I have had in a very long time and want people to undersand how truly amazing this man is. He told me that he wanted to contact his mentor and ask to put off the final indefinitely because my well-being was more important to him than a title.
"This is truly the mark of a Dominant who cares about those he interacts with. I asked that he not do that because I was very much looking forward to that time with him.
"Time he gave me in abundance. He took his time getting to know me so much more that week... He even took me shopping to buy a horse so that I could go horseback riding and have comfort and be distracted from the things that were weighing on me. We sat and talked long hours and he found out all my secrets, so that when it came time for that Final Exam, he blew me away with the most amazing 8 hours of Control and Dominance that I have ever experienced.
"Yes, I do mean 8 full hours. Straight.
"Time failed to exist during that exam and it was over much too soon, but that time so perfectly balanced my soul and got me out of the funk and helped me to shine brightly once more. He did not just "drop me" after that Final Exam. He has continued to check on me and to watch over me as the weeks have passed.
"My faith and trust in him has only grown in this time. He is an amazing Dominant and one that I am privileged to now call a Master here at Roissy. He is one of a kind and his knowledge and understanding of BDSM is an asset to Roissy. He truly is a treasure.
"Anyone who is lucky enough to spend any amount of time with this amazing Dominant will only come out better than when she went in. Thank you, Master Sam, for the inordinate amount of care and the love you showed me when I needed it most. You have become ever so much bigger and real to me over time. You are a constant. "Master? Back to you... Anyone have a tissue?" and Sam smiles and gets up, while Norma Underwood hands Cali a kleenex. He places a hand on her cheek, rubbing it with his thumb for a couple seconds. Presses his forehead to hers and breathes silently, as Cali leans into his hand, her eyes closing.
In the emotional moment, he sniffs, slides his fingers to the back of her neck, holds her jaw with his other hand and presses his mouth on hers to grab a quick short but passionate kiss. Breaks the kiss and looks in her eyes "Thank you for such a glowing trubute Cali. I hope you will remember I am human when eventually I make mistakes"
"I have scheduled that eventuality for the second Tuesday of next week, Master..." and he clears his throat, looking out at everyone.

"Before I deliver my speech, I want to thank Rene for his amazing dream and the home he has built to share with all of us. Without his vision and selflessness, this sim wouldn't be here, nor all the good things we share here.
"I also want to thank the admin team, and specifically Thomas, Xanadu and Gillian for all the work you do for the sim. I know it is a thankless job, and no matter what you do, some people will end up hating you for it. You still do it, and I thank you for it.
"Thank you to Cali and Aysel for the many many hours you both spent building the sets and decorating for today. There are many more I want to thank, but I'm not going to name anyone because I'm sure I'll forget someone's name and that would be unfair. All of you, my friends know how much you mean to me and that I'm thankful to you for everything you do for me." Thomas smiles and nods to Sam.
At that, Sam pulls out his speech from his pocket, looks at the wonderful gathering and reads "I thank the Academy of motion pictures for this Osc..." looks up and chuckles "Sorry, wrong speech" Gives a sub a stern look. (Many giggles)
"Your Master act is spank the writer, Sam" offers Thomas and Sam accepts the sheet from the imaginary sub and starts reading "I thank the International adult actors guild...." quickly shoves the paper in his pocket "Sorry, that's the wrong speech too". Shakes his head and mutters "I'll have to use the leather paddle, missy" (More guffaws and chuckles) "I guess I'll have to deliver free speech today. Here goes."
"My fellow dominants, ladies, girls (can't forget the girls), I came to Roissy about 1 year ago. In all honesty, I only came here out of curiosity. Being an experienced dominant, I did not expect to learn a whole lot. Today I stand here happy to have learned a lot in my time here. I have learned from the workshops, from talking to people, from the Tuesday discussions and more. Some of you have taught me without realizing or trying, and some have probably thought "I'm gonna teach him a lesson". Either way, I thank everyone for helping me grow and become a better person than I was yesterday.
"When I think of an alpha dominant, I think of an African bull elephant. He is the symbol of strength and power. There is not a single beast that can take him on, not even the king of the jungle. It takes a pride of lions to take down one elephant. He does not roam around roaring, imposing himself or bullying other beasts. He has the strength to uproot trees, flip a car like a toy, but can also pick a delicate flower without damaging a single petal.
"It is said that we are the average of the 5 people we are closest to. Thank goodness that does not apply to SL because if it did, I would be in big trouble. I would be a sexy, beautiful girl with a truly submissive heart." He shudders to think of that as laughter subsides and continues "To all of you my closest friends, I love you. Thank you for making my SL so much more enjoyable, and for the happiness and joy you've given me. Thank you for the way you surrender, for the amazing power exchange we share. Thank you for the amount of trust you place in me, for the respect you give me. It is deeply satisfying and humbling. A very thin line separates arrogance and confidence. I hope I continue to stay on the right side of that line.
"I want to say something especially to the debs and interns. You will hear people say take your time with the logs, don't make it a race. It is not just a line. As I look at all my friends here, and my heart grows warm with the beautiful memories I built with them, I realize one common thread. Except 1 sub, I met all my closest friends when one of us was an intern or a deb. My personal experience is, the foundation for strong, enriching connections are built when you're not in a rush to get in each other's pants.
"Recently, someone I respect as a fellow dominant, someone I consider a friend said something to me. He said (I'm paraphrasing) "You have no skin in the game. You sleep with every girl and don't care who it is." Surprisingly, his words neither hurt nor offended me. I am secure in my knowledge of myself and know those words are not true. I bring this up because if he got this wrong impression, maybe some others think so too.
"So, I'm taking this opportunity to publicly tell all the subs, I need to have a connection to scene with you. If sex is all I wanted, I (or any normal person) can find someone in less than 2 minutes on SL. I am here to make friends, enjoy the D/s dynamic, cherish and value the subs who serve me. Those of you who only want sex without a connection, it is your prerogative and more power to you, but I'm not the guy for you.
"However, if you want to build a friendship, I offer you my hand. After that, IF my actions inspire you to submit, and your submission is genuine, I will accept your gift and offer my dominance in return. The key phrase for me being "submission is genuine". I'm not being arrogant, just trying to set expectations straight.
"In closing, I offer 2 quotes on power for consideration by my fellow dominants: Eric Michael Leventhal - 'We are at our most powerful the moment we no longer need to be powerful.' And Shakespeare (but I replace the word giant with beast) - 'Oh it is excellent to have a beast's strength,
but it is tyrannous to use it like a beast.'
"To the submissives here I say this - Don't ask me how much I value your submission, ask your own heart and you will have the answer. Don't listen to the words I say to you, look at my actions behind your back and you will have the answer."
He turns to face Thomas "Thomas my friend, thank you for everything. The floor is yours once more"

Thomas smiles and stands and offers my hand to Sam, who, in turn shakes Thomas's hand. As he pumps Sam's hand, "Thank you Sir for your friendship and supporting the values that Roissy stands for so well" and Sam goes back to his chair
"Thank you all Roissy family. We are truly grateful for what each of you have done to help Sam through his journey. It is what makes our home special. We are a cut above other D/s sims, and today just shows it even more so. Today we have hard spirits instead of champagne. Everyone grab a glass of scotch to toast the new Master."
The crowd of almost 55 people toasts and swarms with boistrous congratulations!
Thomas swirls the liquid in the glass, "I also wish to take the opportunity to also thank Rene, for providing all of this for us, for having the vision to bring us all together. We are a large diverse group with many things to share, and It warms my heart for having all of this to share with each and everyone.
