The doors at the Chateau got a real workout on Pearl Harbor Day this year, as tons of admiring members roamed the living and dining rooms looking for he back patio and Scorpio Blackthorn’s promotion to Master at Roissy Val d’Oise.

After all kinds of happy greetings and seatings, Maitre Thomas politely called for quiet.

W E L C O M I N G   D O M I N A N T

“Welcome all my friends and a warm holiday season thank you for joining us this frosty morning as we celebrate the perseverance that Scorpio has demonstrated to complete his journey and achieve his full Master tag, and now joins the ranks of the many fine Masters of Roissy Val D'Oise. After applicants receive their Dominant role and begin work on their path task, they are always excited to be able to interact and role play with you lovely ladies of Roissy Val d'Oise.

These Dominants find the others around them, both Dominants and submissives alike teach one another from their wealth of wisdom and benefit from people who have done the path before. At Roissy Val d'Oise, we believe that being a Master of the Chateau is an achievement to be truly earned through hard effort, education and practical experience exercising new concepts and learn to a good supportive member of our community themselves.

“Scorpio has been a model Dominant.  I heard all good things regarding his progress in his path and I didn't have to remind what I expect of him.” He turns and walks a few steps, “Before I turn the floor over to  Scorpio and his guest speakers, I wish to present his Master ring that has been made for the Masters of Roissy VDO.

T H E   C O N F I R M E N T

On behalf of Rene, I give this to you as well as one who now joins the ranks of the Masters of the Chateau." At this, Derry does a little fist pump and Venna takes a snapshot.

Scorpio takes the ring from Thomas’ hand and give him a firm shake before sliding it on my finger.."Thank you I am honored to accept this ring and to be counted one of the Masters of the Chateau.”

Thomas shakes his hand, smiling and saying, "We are honored to have you in our community as we are with the rest of our family here. I know  that you will continue the hard work you have demonstrated so far as you continue this next part of your journey in our community." He smiles, "Scorpio, your public awaits. The floor is yours.”

“Thank you. My first speaker today is the person I had the privilege to call my mentor. She helped show me the way around here and was always more than willing to help me out with anything I needed.

“Be it helping me understand the ways of Roissy or observing when there was a need to discipline one of the submissive of our community she offered me whatever support I needed. She was the perfect mentor for me. With that, Derry the floor is yours.” He returns to his seat as Derry stands.

M E N T O R ‘ S   S P E E C H

Derry stands and looks around at the gathered family with a smile, and then at her mentee. “Thank you Master Scorpio,”
and she grins, “Good day everyone. It's a privilege to be here today for this auspicious occasion. Knowing the hard work that goes into the Master log, and the dedication it requires to do it and do it right, I'm happy anytime we have a ceremony like this. It's especially gratifying when the dominant is my own mentee.

“I’d like to think that my mentoring has a lot to do with the success of any of my mentees, but in Scorpio's case, he is such a self starter that I really had little to do with it. Sure there was the occasional question or two. We had a collar discussion early on, during which I offered a tidbit or two which Scorpio told me later he incorporated into his arsenal. Some, when offered such advice might say I prefer to do it my way, but this guy was always willing to try any suggestion I made. To me that is a valuable trait and a sign of maturity.

“After that, I did attend a couple of severe punishments that he did, but these were not even for his log, they were for the logs of the girls receiving the punishment. These were done very well in my opinion and the girls involved were comfortable and assured me afterward that they were well cared for.

“One day, Scorpio told me his workshop was scheduled. Kind of shocked, I requested a copy. Obviously, it had already been approved with no help from me. The next thing I knew, I was asked if I could make it to this ceremony, and here we are. Easiest mentee EVER!”  At this, Scorpio lets out a laugh.

“So to you Master Scorpio, my congratulations on a job well done. We're fortunate to have you.”  With that, Derry smiles and returns to her seat

Scorpio stands and smiles to Derry "Thank you for the kind words Derry and for agreeing to be my mentor all those months ago. Next up is the person I had the privilege of doing my final scene with, the lovely Fae. Prior to Fae agreeing to take part in my final scene, our paths had not crossed a lot at Roissy

"I do not know how it was decided she would be my partner for the final but she was perfect in every way. Fae, the floor is yours." I say before returning to my seat

F I N A L   S C E N E   S I S T E R

Fae stood as gracefully as possible , smoothing down crumpled skirts then turned to look at the newest Master .. Master Scorpio and began to speak .

"I was both honoured and touched to be chosen to assist Master Scorpio with his final; I will admit to being somewhat nervous because as yet he was a relative stranger  and we had no "history" so to speak , though I soon learned that he is both thorough and decisive, good qualities in a Dominant .
Before the event I had questioned him on how he wished me dressed and if he had in mind a plan of how he thought the scene should go .. he did , and even though I did my best to unsettle him (subtly of course) he was adroit at sidestepping anything I did to distract him from his chosen scene and the event unfolded in the most exciting fashion.

“Master Scorpio was quick to react to my emotes, quick to steer the roleplay in a direction of his choosing (despite me trying to sabotage it on a couple of occasions ) *smiles at him warmly ... and generally showed himself to be a consummate role player and careful, considerate Dominant , one I had pleasure in sharing the several hours that it took to complete his final .

“He demonstrated a thorough working knowledge of various bits of equipment and had no problems in handling me at my most bratty *laughs gently , I have no doubt he will continue on his path in the same competent vein and those who have the opportunity to scene with him will be fortunate indeed.” smiled across at him. “I wont take any more of your time extolling the virtues of this remarkable Dominant and will simply say  to him  ‘thank you for letting me be a small part in your progress,’” and after a shy smile, return to my cushion, leaving the floor to him and the assembled friends and family.

Scorpio smiles at Fae and stands, “Thank you Fae. I really enjoyed our time together. I want to thank as well Taylor for permitting Fae to perform this task with me.”

“It was our pleasure Master Scorpio.”

“The last speaking is someone that anyone who knows me is aware of how important this person is to me. Destiny, my kitten. Without her love and support I would not be here today and I would not be the Dominant you see before you”
He looks to his girl beaming with pride. “You’re up kitten.”

G U E S T   S P E A K E R

Destiny smiles and carefully stands from her cushion. She looks around room and smiles warmly at the gathered crowd "Before I get started...I wanted to thank each and every one of you for taking the time out of your day to be here and supporting my Master on his journey" She smiles at her Master before continuing "To my Master....I want to express how very proud I am of you"

"When we started our journey here at VDO we were both unsure of what we had gotten ourselves into. But we have both taken it in stride side by side.There were lows, and we knew there would be, but the highs definitely out weighed them. I have watched you grow in ways I had not seen in you for quite some time. As I watched your journey start I knew right away, even with your own self doubt, that you would go far beyond your own expectations.

"I look forward every day to what new experience and challenge it will bring you and watch in awe and admiration as you take it in your own unique stride. Look at you now....VDO Master.....I know you will wear the title with pride. I always knew that you would bring your own special something to the VDO family. I can only hope that everyone that crosses your path feels as lucky as I do to have met you and have you be a part of their VDO experience.

"My pride in you my Master grows every day...and I hope that you are as proud of yourself as I am. Congratulations to my Master" and she turns and smiles at her Master before returning to her seat.

M A S T E R   S P E E C H

The new Master gives Destiny a smile as i rise from my chair..."Thank you kitten, now how i am supposed to follow that is beyond me but i will try…..” he laughs, then scans the crowd as i clear my throat before starting to speak.."Guess it’s now my turn to say a few words. No worries everyone I plan to keep my remarks brief. In RL, I find myself having to address large groups of people on a regular basis, and it’s not exactly my favorite thing to do.

“First I want to thank each of you for coming today. It really means a lot and brings home what brought Destiny and I here in the first place. A community to be part of and call home. Since coming to SL and finding each other, Destiny and I have attended numerous events here at Roissy over the years but never decided to join until this past summer. Once we became members, I never envisioned I would be standing here today having earned the title of Master. To my kittens’ credit, she did.

“The more time I spent here, learning the ways of the community and getting to know its members, I became more and more comfortable and saw a place for us here. For someone who has been in the lifestyle in both RL and SL as long as I have to say I was really surprised by just how much I learned would be an understatement. I learned a lot about myself. Starting on the intern path and the *Ahem* limitations that accompany that station allowed me to take a step back and looking at many things.

“It’s a very eye opening experience when you take a ground level view of something you have been doing for so long. As I stand here before you all today I can truthfully say it has allowed me to grow. I have been exposed to many new ideas, techniques, and feelings that I have incorporated into my own personal style as a Dominant. At times, I have surprised myself with how comfortable I am with ideas I would not have given a second thought to not long ago. If I could give some advice to the new members of our community I would say don’t just rush thru trying to get task done to advance up the ranks. Take advantage of the time to get to know the people whose path you cross.

“The best part of my journey has been getting to know and forming bonds with many of you here today. Some of whom I met the day I landed here and decided to join. The warm, welcoming and very helpful individuals that make up this community are truly, what keeps me coming back and proud to be part of it. There have been so many people who have helped me get here today that if I tried to name each of them we would be here a lot longer than any of us want. I look forward to seeing where the bonds I have made go in the future and forming new ones as I continue on my path here.

“There is one person who I do have to call out and thank specifically and that’s my kitten Destiny. I would not be the man you see before you today without her love and support. I am truly blessed to have her in my life and I thank her for being there for me without reservation. I know better than anyone what a handful I can be. Thank you kitten I love you.

“Well, my internal clock says I have droned on far too long. In closing, I want to say we truly have an amazing group of people here. Everyone brings his or her unique experiences with them to Roissy and that is what makes this such a great place. There is a place for everyone. Regardless of how you identify Dominant, or submissive everyone deserves to be respected for their views and feelings and here you will be

“If I can be of assistance to any of you, do not hesitate to ask I want to thank the admins for all of their hard work and Rene for providing us with this wonderful place for us to learn and grow. Thank you all for coming, Thomas I return the floor to you."..I say before returning to my seat.

S U M M A R Y   A N D   T O A S T

“Thank you, new brother, Scorpio. The Roissy VDO Master club dues will be expected the first of the  month.”

Scorpio laughs..."Noted"

Thomas laughs, "Just kidding, we do automatic pay check deductions these days" Thomas looks over a the table wondering if they got my order correct and avoids running over Venna this time.

“Is that the mistletoe laced stuff Thomas?” asks Derry

Thomas picks the bottle of Armand de Brignac Brut Gold, and smiles, "Excellent the '55" — No Derry, but I can hold Mistletoe in my hand and drink in the other.” Then, to the audience, “Everyone grab a glass of champagne to toast our new Master.”

The crowd erupts into loud, boisterous cheers as glasses clink and voices burst with gestures and many “Congratulations Master Scorpio!” and even, “is this the time we carry the new Master and throw him in the pool?”

Thomas raises my glass high, "Congratulations Scorpio!...and thank you contributing yourself to Roissy VDO" and then, replying to AK, “Chlorine ruins a good suit you know.”

After a wry exchange with Petra about screw caps versus cork, Thomas finishes…”Please discontinue the congratulations so we can get to the party !" and adds, “I also wish to take the opportunity to also thank Rene, for providing al of this for us, for having the vision to bring us all together,  we are a large diverse group with many things to share, and It warms my heart for  having all of this to share with each and everyone.

“Thank you all for joining us here, in supporting Scorpio's path and to celebrate with him  You are all dismissed now; DJ AK will be spinning tunes in the Garden.”
