Anticipation was high as the Famille of Roissy gathered to view the unveiling of Sir Dex’s Master Event.  A calendar for 2018 that was seven months in the making. Painstaking, beautiful work that showcased the brightest of Roissy’s beautiful ladies, and the pure talent and wonder of Sir Dex’s artistry and photography.

It was just a few minutes before eleven, when Sir Dex gave us something to whet our appetites with, some additional photos he’d taken all around our beloved Roissy, both candid and planned, but all beautiful rotating on three separate themed slideshows: “Roissy Landscapes, Roissy at Night, and Around Roissy”.

As things got started, Sir Dex requested that for those calendar girls that had been able to be present for the great reveal would move to stand near their picture as he spoke about each month.

But first he had this to say…  “We're not going to be very formal... I'm just going to talk ... A LOT! So many people here! I'm very pleased and honoured. This project has taken many months and I have to thank a few people. Of course, all the lovely ladies who agreed to pose for my camera - thank you! You were all very patient with me. For those of you that don't know, posing for the camera is a long boring process for the model!”

“I would also like to thank xanadu for coming up with the idea of the calendar in the first place and pushing me to do it. Thank you xana! Also thanks to Thomas for approving it.  And thank you to the Gallery curator, and my pretty little kitten Ju. She put all of this together and along with Bri and Angel are hosting this event today.”

“In addition to the calendar photos, Ju has put out some easels in the middle of the room where I will be revealing some extra photos. I found it a challenge to select just ONE out of the dozens of photos I took of each beautiful girl, so I will display some of the other worthy entries as well as some various shots I've taken around Roissy and at initiations etc.”

He explained briefly about how the calendar (usable as either a HUD or rezzed in world as a book) was available after the reveal - all the proceeds going towards Roissy, and added a bit more about how it all began:

“First let me tell you the parameters of this project. As a long-time real life photographer and an SL photographer for almost 10 years, my philosophy of photography is to ‘make’ photos, rather than ‘take’ them. So I set myself parameters - or challenges. The parameters I set myself for these calendar photos were to confine them to the Roissy dungeon and to make the photos ‘in real time’ without a lot of thought as to the setup - a sort of ‘catch as catch can’ attitude. It lead to what I love about photography - the ‘happy accident’ on numerous occasions.”

And with that - the breathtaking Calendar Girls were revealed, month by month.  First was Miss January of course, the lovely Ju (Juelle Robbiani). The artist had this to say: “There is little Miss Ju, Silent and bound. :) I'm so pleased with this photo, kitten.”

February’s beauty was our wonderful Head Journaliste, Blue Ronsein. Sir Dex commented that: “And beautiful Miss Ronsein. I mentioned happy accidents?  Most of these poses, as you all know, are in motion... so capturing a girl in mid.. umm.... mid... happiness? Is a challenge.  I was so lucky with this one Blue.. thank you so much.”

March’s vision was our favorite trouble-maker… er - innocent! Muffin (leilani Wardark). Sir Dex had this tidbit to offer on Muffin’s breathtaking portrait: “What can I say about our Muffin other than I should have waited and had Muffin and Tasta in a tag team of evil.  Beautiful sexy girl sitting at Master's knee... I love this one.”

He also mentioned amidst the wealth of adoring comments from those gathered about, that “Since there is no ‘available’ lighting in the dungeon, I had to place lights in and around the models... made it quite the challenge…”

April’s alluring artistry was the demure Aliyah Charisma (TinyPinkyZero)  “Aliyah sends her regrets... she's on quite a different clock, but I've shown her her photo and she is pleased.  As I am.   Again... happy accidents... of course you need to shoot 100 frames to catch one.”

For May, we had the marvelous Nica Severo (Veronica90) “Another very very happy accident... little Nica snuck up behind me one day and introduced herself by squeezing me.  I told her of the project and within a day I was taking her photo.  As I was setting up my lights.. Nica was moving around and getting positioned and I caught a magnificent photo of her.. just by chance.  I'm just thrilled with this capture, just caught her in backlight by accident.”

June’s joyful representation comes with the beauty of Sal (SalaciousIntent).  “Our Sal couldn't make it unfortunately…  But this is model quality right here.  It is so easy to take beautiful photos when the model is gorgeous…”

July’s heated impression was the bewitching Keira Rhapsody.  Continuing with his comments from before, he added “Like this lovely lady, not only an accomplished musician, but a wonderful person and a lovely model.  And Miss July -  It is all in the eyes.”  A slight pause then “Oh the flute is missing ;)”

A light round of bemused laughter poured out at that, with a few teasing words, and Sir Dex continued on to the next month - our appealing Ms. August, Mistress Petra Steele (PetraSteele58).  He had this to say about the Mistress’ dazzling calendar page while teasing her about joining him at her portrait: “Petra and I have been friends since we both came to Roissy about a year ago.  Sometimes I tell her, I've taken many surreptitious photos of this woman.  Petra jumped at the invitation to be in the dungeon with me but I had to inform her I wasn't going to be her sub. I'm super stoked about her photo. Isn't she gorgeous?”

And then it was September all over again, and LovelyBrat McMahon (LovelyLadyRoy) stepped forward to join Sir Dex at her calendar page. “Lovely and I had such a time during her shoot... the dungeon was occupied... I crashed, she crashed, we both crashed. We went to the old dungeon, and even out of crashing every two photographs, I got so many beautiful photos of lovely Lovely.   I got called away in RL so did she... but we kept on shooting. And thanks to Mykal for permission.”

For October, it was the sexy and sweet Sefa (Sefa Perl).  Sir Dex had this to say regarding October’s calendar girl:  “Sefa was one of my first friends at VdO and my first initiation as well. She is editor of a wonderful magazine in SL, and is one of the hardest working women I know.. in SL and in RL.  So I was so pleased she agreed to be part of this.  I'm just adjusting her rope is all... ahem…”

November was the delightful Meli (Mica Kaligawa).  “Now Meli told me she wasn't able to attend as well.  Her photos were the MOST challenging.  I had her hanging in the dungeon for hours.  I was trying some new techniques for multiple textured lighting and they came out nicely.  I was super pleased with her photo.”

Ahh December, the holidays fast approaching and though the end of the year always brings a bit of sadness, there’s this beautiful picture to brighten our month and bring joy to the season.  “As I said earlier, this project wouldn't exist without xana.  Since December is a Christmas month, I found a Christmas outfit for xana to wear, and thought a warm fire with a pretty wrapped girl would be in order.  Isn't she beautiful?”

All in all, the twelve beautiful calendar pages were accompanied by some more exposures - other photos Sir Dex had taken around Roissy, either more from our calendar girls, or other beautiful works.   The praise was high and free-flowing and well-deserved.  A snippet of the offered adulations are shown below:
